If Gingrich is offended by De Niro's joke, he should ask De Niro to apologize, not Obama.

what is wrong with these celebs? are they retarded? why did robert de niro (not a comedian btw) think that was appropriate? just like i wonder why cee-lo decided to curse and give the finger at obama's fundraiser here in atlanta.

First: I love Robert De Niro, he can do no wrong in my eyes.
Second: So now the president is responsible for what other people say?? HE has to apologies when someone says something that offends someone in the GOP? Really? its come to that?
its funny how the GOP can dish out racist, homophobic, sexist "jokes", but when an actor tells a joke poking fun at them, the president has to apologise? just doesnt make sense to me.
attempting to make sense of the craziness makes my head hurt, so i'm going to just quit trying.

I don't get it either. DeNiro was the one who made the joke, not Obama. Why should the president be held accountable for what a private citizen says, even if they are a celebrity? If Gingrich is that offended, he should go directly to the source. But a lot of the GOP are pansies. They can sure dish it out but they can't take it when it's thrown back at them.

I don't know. Why do you think it's appropriate to call someone who said something stupid retarded?

the reason i asked if they were retarded is because retarded is a slang word that means someone was acting as if they had no sense. this is a message board, i feel free to express myself as i wish. if i was speaking in front of the president i think i would know not to make racial jokes (in this case the first lady). if i was an musician and i made a recording with and without cursing i would know not to use profanity or my middle finger in front of the president of the united states. to do otherwise is RETARDED!!!!! (or using bad judgement since you seem to be sensitive)

You can certainly express yourself as you choose. That's your right. And it's my right to call you out on it when it's offensive. Feel free to ignore me if you choose, but I'm trying to call your attention to the fact that using that word in that context is akin to calling something you dislike "gay". Or is that okay in your book too?
And, really? You're using Urban Dictionary to justify your usage? You're aware that Urban Dictionary is essentially authored by sixteen year olds?

Narcisissts are unable to view themselves as the butt of a joke -- never ever ever -- since the sun literally shines out of their azzes.. according to them. They are never wrong, they are the best looking, and they're smarter than everyone else.. it's true! Really! If you don't believe them then obviously there's something wrong with you.

He's pretending to not understand the joke. And that's going to win points with people.

I think Gingrich should apologize for calling himself the "future President of the United States". The unmitigated gaul.
He needs a stadium full of seats.

I don't understand why all of a sudden, comments made a political rallies are supposed to be apologized for?
These things are always one sided, and opinionated, and I've never once heard anyone needing to apologize for a comment someone else made regarding them.
First off, it was some sort of joke. Because it took us so long to get to a point of having a black President, and First Lady, that are we ready to let go of that (and potentionally never have that again?), no, a lot of people aren't.
I think celebrities are very passionate about Obama because they're artists, they're a little different in their thinking, and most of them are pretty liberal.
I think to Newt, this is some backlash about Limbaugh needing to apologize, although one really has nothing to do with the other.

There isn't anything to get over. You're comfortable using offensive terminology, and I'm comfortable calling you out on it. I think we're all comfortable.
