i saw this movie recently. its very good but i would never guessed it would make 300+ million . i dont understand about the violence gripe. what violence?

Yeah, you really don't see a lot of the violent stuff. The book put images in my head that I still can't extract from my brain.

After seeing it the second time, I started feeling (surprisingly) sad that some people were *****ing because like two black people are primary characters in the movie. Really? And after reading the books.....they were clearly described as people of color. And the statements on not feeling sympathetic to the Rue character...don't get it at all.

I can not wait to see this movie! I have not read the books (and I didn't read your comments either, so it wouldn't be spoiled) but I did download them yesterday. I've heard nothing but great things about both. I'm going to watch the film first, and then read. I'm incredibly excited because it was filmed in my "neck of the woods". It's always neat to see home on the big screen.

I have never been previously interested in this genre of movie but after seeing so many favorable and enthusiastic comments on this site, I went to see.

I really enjoyed it and would see it again and possibly read the books.

I finally saw this on Saturday. I really enjoyed it. Really liked Lenny Kravitz. And Katniss looked how I had her in my head. I did not think Peeta looked how I expected him to but I thought he did fine in the role. My daughter said the actor who plays Gale is also in some star trek movie. I have no idea about that but also looked how I expected him to. They really made it obvious there would be a sequel huh??

Well, the brother of the actor who played Gale was in Star Trek. He played Kirk's father in the reboot. That brother is now better known as the actor who plays Thor.

RCC I misspoke. She said his brother (i read her mssg wrong) but she said they look a lot like each other. She kept saying during the movie that he looked so familiar.
