I can see how he could have gotten them mixed up, especially if he has only seen photos of Jennifer. They do look somewhat alike. I don't think bashing the poor white guy for being stupid is the right thing. That doesn't mean that he thinks all black people look alike. At least he was being friendly and not being a you-know-what. Give the guy a break. He tried.

Are you serious? I get Patrick Swayze & Kurt Russell confused a lot. I must think that all white men look alike... I think it was just an honest mistake. I have done that before with customers at my parents' business. I'm sure he is so embarrassed.

OK, now THIS was really funny! I kid you not, it was exactly what I was thinking. What a hoot!

No, shelli..I hate to say it, but there are some people who really do think that all us Black folk look alike. I've actually had someone say that to me.

I was working somewhere with another Black girl. Well, apparently the other Black girl helped some woman and her husband. They saw me the next day and said "Hey...that paperwork you gave us wasn't the right stuff." I told them I had no clue what they were talking about but that I'd be glad to help. Finally, they mentioned that they had gotten the paperwork the previous day. I told them that it must have been the OTHER girl that worked there and the woman actually said to me, "Well, she was Black too...how was I supposed to know." Her husband laughed and they walked off. I just stood there with my jaw on the floor for a bit.

Welcome to Southeast Texas. I have shared PLENTY of worse stories, but this one just happened to pertain to the subject at hand.

That's happened to me TONS of times too, Meg. With people who have a WAY different complexion, body type, hair style....

Yeah, but in this case, these two women really do look alike, at least to me.

Oh, I can definately see the resemblence.

And, we can quit with the racism issue. After all, go check out the americal idol thread. Most of all think that the Carol lady was the spittin image of Joan Collins.......I'm still not convinced they aren't one Many people can look similar, reguardless of the color of their skin.

Haha, I had two friends tell me that I lookd just like Lisa from last year's Idol.

(She is black, I am white!)

This is what they looked like the night of the Golden Globes. There is no resemblance here to me even though they favor each other. Short curly hair vs. Long wavy hair, dresses, and complexion.

Actresses change their hair every week. Do you suppose Brad is watching Entertainment Tonight to keep up with their latest styles? I'm sorry that I seem to be so defensive and snarky over such a silly topic.....but I'm pretty sure Brad barely has laid eyes on Jennifer Hudson. He probably didn't watch American Idol or has seen Dream Girls, so he's probably just seen a picture here or there and was 'trying' to be polite and supportive - IF that is what he meant by the congrats and kiss. Whatever.

All the more reason why I feel he should have taken the time to make a more formal introduction. A kiss on the cheek to a complete stranger is kooky to me.

I *might* get them confused if I had a couple of cocktails. Unlike other award shows, the Globes are pretty laid back. People drink and socialize. Walk around during broadcast. Did you hear the noise after coming back from commercials?

Maybe Brad indulged a little. It might have affected his judgement.

My best friend and I are mistaken for sisters all the time. Twice we've been asked if we were twins. We are white. We are not sisters. We are not even related.

Let me add a side note now. Picture this: We are both 5' 2" and could lose a few pounds. When the waitress asked if we were twins, my girlfriend spouts off "Yeah, but I'm the tall skinny one". Poor waitress, she didn't dare laugh even though I was peeing my pants!

I'm not saying that I've never heard "They all look alike", of course I have. I just don't think that was this case. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe Brad does think that and thought that. *shrug*

They are both beautiful.
A gal I work with looks like Jennifer and it is cute cause she wants to sing. We made her do a faux idol audition last since we are all watching idol. It was funny.

I still don't see it. I never saw Dream Girls, or AI, but I've seen both of them on tv a lot lately. To me, AI girl is darker, larger, with a stout face. The other girl has lighter skin, a pointy chin, different eyes...she has unusual looks...like someone who is mixed.

To those who have taken offense to what I said...I guess you didn't see that episode of The Office with the two waitresses from the Japanese restaurant...I was half joking when I said it with that in mind...
