God I hope not...
Could Charles Manson go free? | HLNtv.com

What a waste of time and resources. At a certain point, who cares if a murderer is sorry (he's not) or rehabilitated (not even pretending to be)? You kill a bunch of people, you rot in jail. Why go through the farce of this parole business every few years? Or has the prison system righted itself while I wasn't looking and they have nothing else to attend to these days?

Dude, I hope not! I doubt that he could inflict the same kind of harm now that he did back in 1969...but I would prefer if he remained behind bars.

That's where he should be. I feel terrible for all of his victims, including Sharon Tate (I'm a big fan of hers).

Yeah, gotta love the legal system.
Too bad they overturned the death penalty back in the 70s as being unconstitutional...what a bunch of bs...
And I'm pretty sure someone will take him out as soon as he steps out of the prison walls...

What I don't understand is why they would want to let him out. We have enough nutjobs in society walking around free as it is...I'm looking at you, shooter of Trayvon Martin!

Charlie's an old man now. There would be no point to releasing him, IMO.

I don't think he has friends or family who actually care about him on the outside. And his followers, some of them are either dead or in prison. Susan Atkins died a few years ago.
I don't think he will. But EVERYONE has a right to a parole hearing at a certain point. I think it is important to follow due process, and even more important for the egregious cases.

Exercising your right to a parole hearing doesn't mean you're getting out. People should calm down.

I would be totally shocked if he ever was granted parole.

No, and he shouldn't be. He should rot in jail.
Might as well. Everyone else is getting away with murder these days. Makes me wonder about whom jail is for.

No, he'll die in prison.

I was born to be a pessimist. My blood type is B Negative.
Maybe they should change the system to be more like colonoscopies. If you have a clean colonoscopy at a certain age, you don't need another one for ten years.

If someone isn't granted parole 3 times in a row, why waste time and money having a parole hearing every year? Why not have a parole hearing after 5 or 10 years?

I hope he gets sick and dies a very slow, very painful death in prison and alone.

No, Charlie will never be free!
I always thought that part of the parole process was admitting that you committed the crime or that you were culpable. As far as I can recall, I don't think Manson has ever taken responsibility. It's like he would prefer to stay in prison because he's famous for being in prison, if that makes sense. He sees himself as a political prisoner and he likes it that way.

Anybody else remember his interview with Diane Sawyer back in 1994? Scary.

This guy is saying he may be Manson's son and he is not doing this for fame. I just don't get this if my Father was an unhinged psychopath(right term?) I would keep that ish to myself. He says it's only made things harder for him. Yes and going on CNN talking about possible lineage makes things easier. Idk

Naaaah... he's too crazy and too dangerous, and he's gotten crazier over the years.

He may not have been present at the Tate/LaBianca murders, but he manipulated the other family members into committing the murders, which legally does count to a degree (conspiracy to commit murder). And I think because of the nature of the murders, it probably matters more. Plus, there was the murder of that one young man back at the ranch (I forget his name) that Manson did actually commit, so that's one life he actually took.

Of course, Squeaky Fromme was released after all these years, so anything could happen. And honestly, that surprised me - wouldn't someone who attempted to assassinate a president be in jail for good? I would have thought so - I was pretty surprised that she was let out. Even though that was unrelated to the Tate/LaBianca murders, it was still a presidential assassination attempt.

But really, as for Manson himself: Nope - that's my opinion. A guy like that should remain in jail.

There's absolutely no way in hell Manson will ever go free. He is legally afforded a parole hearing every few years and so we go through this dog and pony show knowing the inevitable outcome. Since California cannot execute him, he is precisely where he belongs.

I just realized he is the same age as my mom
This will likely be his last parole hearing. HLN was saying that he would not have another for the next 15 years....
