FASHION CHALLENGE: How would you wear these socks?
Build an outfit around these socks! You can use the socks in any color combination from the drop-down list.
EDIT:
I'm adding photos of the socks so this thread will still make sense when the link no longer works. I apologize in advance for the influx of fetishists we may get.
Black gold
Black silver
Gray black
Lilac black
Navy gold
Pink silver
Wasabi black

I am definitely fashion challenged but the wasabi/black sock is calling to me for some reason.

I really like the navy/gold. I was thinking that it's too bad I don't have money to blow on elaborate hand-decorated socks. And then I realized that even if I could buy them, I'd have no idea what to wear them with!
And while we're at it, these socks are amazing too. I like the orange version best. But I think it would be pretty easy to pair those with flats and shorts.
(I was browsing online for boring skintone stockings, and then I decided I might as well look at all the crazy pretty stockings I have no occasion to wear)

Yeah, but what style of LBD? And what kind of shoes? I wanna see pictures! Like a Polyvore kind of thing.

Oh my goodness. I had never seen Polyvore before and you have just done something terrible to me.
AAAAH such a girl right now.
Be back in a bit with examples.

So I picked out a single dress I'd wear with the socks because the others were too elaborate or too almost sundressy or didn't look quite right for some reason and I got tired of looking (if you're going to wear statement socks, I feel like the rest of your outfit should be fairly simple).
I present you with options: for all the ones that don't have specific colors (the wasabi, lilac, pink, etc I feel like I'd have to match with accessories). Either a bright bag or bright shoes, I thought; but neither could work.

One more ...
P.S. I ignored the price of these ... not suggesting the ACTUAL clothes because some of them are crazy ...

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

Agreed.
As in: I'd never wear those socks.

I like the black and gray combos, not so much the others. And I would wear them with whatever I want. I only have patterned socks, they make me happy.

They sort of suck as socks. They should be tights. It'd be more versatile.

I am utterly perplexed by knee socks. I have no idea how to style them. but I do think the black and silver ones are really nice. if they were thigh highs or tights, I'd wear them with a black pencil skirt, blue blousy top tucked in, and black heels.

I really like the dress, although I hope it would cover the socks' hems! And I especially like the idea of using gold shoes.
I think my ideal outfit would be that dress (maybe empire-waisted?), gold-on-black socks, gold pumps, a very simple black bag with nothing metallic, and either small gold earrings or a small gold headband or barrette.

That sounds literally perfect and I wish I had that outfit and a reason to wear it now.

This thread is giving me the opportunity to say: I have knee-high flip-flop socks -- the big piggy is separate -- that are bright orange with wee green frogs all over them. I wear them with whatever.

I'm pretty sure if you wore a style the first time it was "in", you're not supposed to wear it again. I wore knee socks as a child/teen, and I'm damn sure not going to wear them now.
Knee socks with shorts? Ugh...

I like these socks. Though the pattern is very raised and maybe uncomfortable.

Knee high socks remind me of school uniforms and seem juvenile, so I would not wear them, even though I do like the pattern (especially the grey with black). I would not have worn them even when it was age appropriate (I was in my early teens when Clueless came out and didn't think too highly of the trend) and I always roll my eyes at the women in my gym who roll their gym socks over their hideous patterned leotards all the way up.
