The Kia Sedona commercial...

My 2 year-old loves it. Whenever it come on, she tries to sing along. When she sings, "Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu," I want to squeeze her.

That is all.

Funny you should mention this since I have that darn song stuck in my head! My 3year old is also a fan and does the same exact thing. At the very end (when they sing 'good-byyyye!') she tries to add something to it by getting louder and louder with the note.

My husband doesn't get it. He's never seen "The Sound of Music." So sad!

I sing along and do the little dance every time.

I was just thinking about posting something about this commercial - it came on a few minutes ago, and I get such a kick out of it.

Your daughter sounds like such a cutie - I'd want to squish her, too!

Yeah, it's from the Sound of Music. The kids all perform it at a ball hosted by their father. It's pretty adorable.

Aww, that's so cute! Maybe she'd like to watch a mommy-edited version of the Sound of Music (i.e., watch it on DVD and only show the singing parts)? When I was little, I had that whole scene memorized - I'm pretty sure I begged my siblings to do sing it with me, but it never worked out.

I definitely sing along with the commerical... the first time, my bf looked at me like because he's never seen the Sound of Music and he thought I'd just seen the commercial enough times to have memorized the song. hehe
That's so cute Medussa. My little ones have taken to it too. They are always singing the song. My six yo has been telling me for monthes we need a Kia "Sadumdum" because is has a tv in it. It still cracks me up. Kids are so cute.

KPLR in St. Louis (channel 11!) used to show lots of old musicals on Saturday afternoons, so I spent many a snowy winter's day watching them. I know TONS of the songs without really even knowing where they came from.

My husband was suitably impressed by this just last night. He was playing me some songs he'd loaded on my iPod, including "Sisters" by Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen, and several by the Andrews Sisters. I knew ALL the words. He was like, "How do you know this stuff?"

It helped that my mom and dad sing/sang all the time, even though Dad couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.

That's cute. If the Sing- A-Long Sound of Music is still playing in NYC you guys should go.
