Do you have a toaster oven?
Do you have a plain wire rack? And a pan with edges? Put them together & they become an instant broiling pan.

You could probably put foil over a cookie sheet.
Under construction.

If you have foil you can roll up a bunch of sheets to make rods to raise the steak off the cookie sheet.

Or on the grill?

If she really liked it cooked that way...she'd probably have a broiler pan...just saying...

I don't like steak in the oven but always cook my prime rib and sometimes filet migon in the oven.

All this talk of steak has me hungry for some, I think I'll fire up the grill tomorrow night and do some porterhouse.
Momma always told me if you can't say somethin' nice, don't say anything at all.

As far as the original question, IC had a good idea! I would probably just pan-fry if I couldn't grill, but I'm sure baking is okay too!
I don't think I have ever in my life heard of cooking a steak in the oven! Seriously, I didn't even know that was an option... I think grill or pan is the way to go! I'm gonna have to ask my mom about this baking thing...is that regional?
