I'm confused by the definition of booty shorts. All this time I thought I wore booty shorts but my ass definitely does not hang out!

Just my opinion but shorts that are not very short look very unattractive to me. If I stop wearing short shorts, I'm definitely not wearing mid thigh to knee short, maybe if im 80 who knows, by then I may have given into pleats as well.

I only wear shorts on vacation when it's very hot or at bbq/pool activity/party type scene. I wear them at night at bars/clubs as well. In the summer I hardly wear shorts out in the day for any other reason although sometimes I do when the mood strikes and I want to show a bunch of leg...I'd rather wear dresses.

I thought booty shorts were those shorts that barely come down past the crotch area and hug the butt really tight right under the cheeks. I've seen quite a few teenage girls and young ladies wear them. It looks kind of weird to me.. LOL!

Some of you all are making me want to buy some short shorts now! Not booty shorts. I'm not quite that daring.

My explanation of "booty shorts": I think of booty shorts as short enough to have stuff hanging out. In 1993 when I was in 7th grade, we called them daisy dukes. I know it was a 70's thing, but the term must've made a short re-surgence at that time for some reason.

93' was my senior year in high school The song Daisy Duk's (look at them girls with the daisy dukes on) was popular around that time, and most the short shorts were cut off denim.

I think your wardrobe should be whatever you feel comfortable wearing. If you are feeling the need to change a few things, do. If not, that's fine too. I felt the need for my "look" to change in my late 20's, but I previously wore some outlandish stuff.

I just turned 30 in February. I have been having some thoughts about thus as well. I am pretty petite and live wearing short shorts because I feel the longer ones make me look stumpy, especially with flats. Sooo, when I went spring/summer clothes shopping, I tried the longer shorts because "I'm 30 now.". I looked the same. Stumpy. So, I went right back to my 2.25" inseam. And I feel better. Also, if my 50 year old sister in law can still wear short shorts and look appropriate and beautiful, I can wear my shorts!!! So, I say all that to say if it still looks good and you like it, go for it!

Thanks for the pictures! Definitely short shorts here, although I have 2 booty shorts that I wear rarely.
