That one's easy: Ryan Seacrest. He's been groomed for it.

I've always thought Carson Daly resembled a young Dick Clark. But yeah, that gig is going to Ryan.

I was surprised to hear he was "only" 82. I guess when you get the reputation for looking-young-forever, people start to think you're older than you are.

I was also surprised to hear on the radio today of some of his...shady history. Apparently, he secretly owned record publishing and manufacturing companies, and would promote songs on his show that benefitted him financially, and that he got into quite a bit of trouble with the government for doing that. Kind of belied his squeaky-clean image a bit for me.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone these days that has that squeaky clean image and actually IS squeaky clean - celebrity or otherwise.

I so often dreamed of being on American Bandstand. The closest I got was seeing my friend's brother on there. He's the drummer in this video, Benny Rappa (unfortunately he is also gone). Look at all the crazy hair! : )

Dick Clark was sure cute, all through the years.
