Do you have weird food rules?

Like Tree6Likes

I don't really have any rules. There are things I don't like - beef, for example. I've tried, but it's just a taste that I don't like, whether it's a steak or a hamburger or anything in between. I figure there are enough other options out there that I do like that it isn't an issue. *shrug*
I like to eat around my plate, like one bite from each item at a time. I usually end up with one bite of each thing left at the end. If someone takes something off my plate, I joke that it ruins my "rotation". If I have too much of one thing I have to get more of the other or ration each bite of what I have less of. I don't think about this when I am eating but have noticed my habit because I get teased for it

I love chocolate with fruit! I love chunks in ice cream and yogurt...berries, nuts, etc. I don't like soft or runny eggs, I can eat a bite or two of eggs but not my own full portion. I don't eat beef or pork and like my chicken and fish on the overcooked/dry side. I love sweet and salty together, like salads with fruit, nuts, and feta or goat cheese. Can't stand anything greasy like a ton of melted cheese over food. I don't like anything creamy or cheesy with seafood, I really don't like seafood mixed with anything else. Hate mushy veggies, I like them al dente.

I love food, l'm not fussy, and will try (and usually like) most anything. I'll eat things I don't really like. I'll eat things that are overcooked or undercooked. I can thoroughly enjoy the simplest or fanciest things.

I don't really have any rules but there are a few things I don't particularly like.
I don't like my food touching so when I'm home I put my food in different dishes.
I don't like eating with metal silverware so when I'm home I use plastic.
I love raw celery but don't like it cooked.
I love raw green peppers but don't like them cooked.
I'm not a cheesaholic and don't want cheese on everything.

^^ Glad to see I'm not the only one. My dislike of metal silverware probably stems from having a mouth full of metal fillings. It's just makes my teeth and head hurt if silverware touches them. And I nearly have a breakdown if I'm eating with someone who scrapes their teeth with their fork all the time. Ouch! I use metal in public of course. But I really love using plastic.

The only food rule is that I hate pickles and pickle flavored junk like chips. I can eat a pickle on a burger or sandwich. And I like dill like dill Havarti. But I can't just eat a pickle. Ewww.

I don't eat anything cold, like salad. Only ice cream. Cold pizza, chicken, etc? I gag. Ugh. My good must be burning hot.

My food must not touch.

I have a particular way I eat sandwiches, Fudge Rounds, Kit Kats, Snickers, etc.

I have not drank milk since I came off the bottle. It's a texture thing.

I despise fruit juices.

I'm sure there are more but I can't think of any others right now.
Still figuring out the best routine for my 3b hair!

^^ day 1 of going CG; avatar = 6 months later
If I am eating M & M's, I separate them out by color, then I then eat them by which one has most, but in rainbow order (except green, I save each green one for last). Then, when they all have the same number, I eat again in rainbow order except green. Green is always last. Skittles are also done this way, but I eat the green after the yellow, not at the end.

I can't eat anything that has bones in it. Like a chicken drumstick. I also find chicken wings really gross, simply because of the bones.

Don't like my food touching on a plate.

I am sure I have more, but those are the big ones.
You all are making me laugh out loud! Y'all are funny!!! Definitely weird. I'm enjoying this.

I'm weird in a lot of ways but I guess not re: food. I have preferences, but the only thing people seem to think is weird about my eating habits is I'm not much into sweets. It's not a diet thing, I just prefer salty and savory. Chocolate is OK - can take it or leave it. I know - - weird!
2/c and some 3A.
Protein sensitive but can use occasionally
Highly porous. Color over grey.
Best 1st day method: Super Soaker
Stylers: Mix Curls in a Bottle into everything for shine. Terrible pj
Sometimes try roller sets - classic glamor but I prefer my curls.
Every day is a gift
I don't like it when restaurants chill cutlery for cold desserts. And if I refrigerate leftover iced coffee, I have to drink it from a room temp. mug.
I'm pretty relaxed about "food rules" these days. Mostly, I just prefer for my food not to touch too much... But generally more in the sense of "I'd rather not have that watermelon juice make my hamburger bun all soggy" than "Oh my goodness! My mashed potatoes and meatloaf absolutely cannot touch!"

I am pretty particular about spreading jelly/peanut butter/cream cheese/etc very evenly over the whole surface of whatever I'm eating. My husband mocks my perfect pb&j sandwiches.

The fork felt bad against my teeth.

I also dislike oversized cutlery.

Okay: I think I'm realizing I have a thing about cutlery.

I really dislike having to commit to an entree, I much prefer to have many tastes of different foods and to share

Hate more than 2 things together, dislike stirfry's

I tend to eat the same foods over and over again, once I know what I like I always just stick to it

I always eat my pizza with a knife and fork, it tastes better this way, and I usually scrape off most of the topping and eat it seperately

I need the correct liquid in the correct glass

Except for soups and cereal I eat almost everything with a fork and knife

Always pre-cut everything like an old man

Probably my weirdest is how i make sandwiches. The cheese cannot go on the bottom. If its ham & cheese, the ham goes on, then the cheese, and i cant eat it upside down. It feels weird. Same with pb&j... The jelly goes on top and i cant eat it flipped over.

No other food rules, but if the silverware is set wrong, I have to fix it.
Corn on the cob has to be eaten first while it's still hot and the cob has to be thrown away before getting to the rest of the meal.

Some people mention it's odd to see someone eat their macaroni and cheese with mustard.

My girlfriend makes me light insence before eating kimchi - which I must do outside. That's weird.
*I eat one thing at a time.
*No (or very little) chocolate in summer. It's just too friggin' hot!
*Can't eat meat when it first comes out. The steam tastes like blood or something. Just... No.
*I can't eat outside or with the car windows down.
*I can only drink things ice cold. (except tea, coffee, hot chocolate) Even as a baby, only ice cold milk.

I'm sure there are more, but I'll stop before I'm declared insane.

Jen
