Do you have weird food rules?
I'm starting to realize I do.
Here are some of mine:
No soups in the summer
Oatmeal: Only in winter
Broccoli: Fine on its own, but not mixed in with any food.
Chocolate: Only in bars, not in cookies, cakes, or as frosting.
Eggs: Great for lunch and dinner but not breakfast.
I'm really weird!! Do you have any weird food rules?

Not sure if this is that wierd or not but I don't like to share plates. As in going to a restaurant, ordering a bunch of food and everyone share.
I eat one thing at a time, I don't mix. For example, I start eating my fries after I am completely done with my burger. I don't mix curries either even if they are all on one plate. I don't fully enjoy the flavor of a food if I take a few bites and move on to something else and then come back to it.

No. You're weird.
(And missing out on soups that rely on summer produce! And oats with fresh spring/summer fruit . . . Mmm, oats with roasted rhubarb!)

Oats with rhubarb? I've never heard of such a thing! I only know rhubarb with strawberries or eaten plain with a bit of salt like we used to do when I was a kid.
I've always said I'm a season eater. I'm probably actually just weird. But the opposite of no soups in the summer is no salad in the winter. I love salad in the summer.

I don't care for fruit and chocolate together (except raisins, I do like chocolate chips and raisins together in trail mix) - I hate chocolate covered strawberries, or when people ruin perfectly good chocolate cake with raspberry sauce/filling of some sort.

It's also great with Greek yogurt and a little granola.
I love winter salads. You get hardier greens and citrus in the winter. Avocado and grapefruit salad, or shaved fennel, apple, and pomegranate, or frisée, winter squash, hazelnuts, or endive with pear and Meyer lemon.
I think this is a pretty popular one, except for the chocolate-covered strawberries part, because people have an inexplicable love for mediocre, flavorless strawberries covered in chocolate. So, outside of that I wouldn't say it's weird by most people's standards.
I like chocolate with raspberry and orange (oh, and apricot), though it depends how it's done. I'd much sooner just leave the chocolate out altogether, though.

I don't like my food to touch.
Don't like gravy
Don't mix my food
Eat one food at a time (veggie first)
Don't like stewed meats
Light toast
Eat the edges off my bread first
I can't stand the smell of raw eggs
Only eat scrambled eggs with cheese (with seasoning of course)
Can only eat boiled eggs with seasonings
No under-cooked eggs of any kind
Yeah, weird, I know.

This thread has made me remember the observation of a rule people have for no reason. So many times now I've heard:
"You know, I usually don't like fruit and meat together, but this is really delicious."
Heard from so many different people! Seriously, it's a popular one, and yet without fail it's uttered as the person is eating up a dish featuring the combo. I recently heard it again when we were tasting our new duck plate which features an apricot-orange purée.

Mine are:
No ice cream in the winter.
No soups in the summer.
I will only eat eggs that are scrambled or hard boiled. If they are prepared any other way, I gag.
I don't use a lot of gravies, sauces or condiments in anything. I don't like drowning my food in them because then, you end up tasting just the gravy or the sauce and not the actual food itself.
I don't do cheeseburgers or any sandwich with cheese in it. (Actually, I don't eat a lot of cheese in general) It's partly due to lactose intolerance, but it's also partly because I'm not a big fan of cheese.
I don't like nuts, by themselves or mixed with something. I.E. I'll eat brownies, but if they have nuts in them, I won't eat them.
Also, as a kid, I used to eat one thing at a time but people would remark on how weird that was and I got self conscious about it, so by the time I was in high school, I started eating food mixed up the way a lot of other people eat it.

I also eat one thing at a time, and yes i get told its weird.
I dont like tomatoes, but i love ketchup.
I dont like oranges, but i love orange juice.
I despise jello. Seriously. Its a texture issue.
Probably my weirdest is how i make sandwiches. The cheese cannot go on the bottom. If its ham & cheese, the ham goes on, then the cheese, and i cant eat it upside down. It feels weird. Same with pb&j... The jelly goes on top and i cant eat it flipped over.

If i have pepperoni pizza, I have to pick the pepperoni off first and eat it by itself; the only exception is when the pepperoni won't come off easily and it would take off too much of the cheese with it. It comes from being a kid and when I used to eat pepperoni pizza, if I tried to take a bite where I would only bite half of a pepperoni, it would pull off the rest of the pepperoni and some cheese with it, and end up being super messy.
Also, I love grapes but hate grape juice or any artificial grape flavoring.
And this isn't true anymore, but my mom said when I was young, if I ate a banana it had to be whole. If it was broken, I'd start crying and wouldn't eat it.

I can't do chocolate with any kind of nutbutters or coffee (chocolate with fruit is fine, though).
Unless they're scrambled eggs have to have runny yolks. Bring it on, Salmonella!
Yogurt has to be smooth, so putting fruit in my yogurt is a no-no.
Besides some food dislikes, that's about it.

I'm like mangos but not mango juice .
I don't do raw veggies , they have to be cooked for at least 3 minutes
If its cold I'm not drinking or eating
Nothing with chocolate for me , it 'ruins' the taste
I love cocoa the fruit with the seeds in bt not the cocoa derived used for chocolates

- I don't like nuts in my ice cream...I like nuts fine on their own or in other stuff though.
- I try not to eat peppers...not because I don't like them, but because they make me burp.
Those are the only 2 I can think of. I'm really flexible about food.

I'm pretty relaxed about "food rules" these days. Mostly, I just prefer for my food not to touch too much... But generally more in the sense of "I'd rather not have that watermelon juice make my hamburger bun all soggy" than "Oh my goodness! My mashed potatoes and meatloaf absolutely cannot touch!"
