Do you like where you live?
I live in the sf bay area. I think it's going to be extremely difficult for me to ever leave; I love living here. It's so beautiful, and I think it's a big reason I'm such a nature-y person.
Where about where you are? Do you plan to stick around or head out soon?

I've lived in the bay area almost a year and really love it here. The weather can't be beat and there's such a great range of things to do and different landscapes. The only drawback for me right now is how far away from our family we are and the difficulty in being able to see them.
We'll be moving on in another three years, but no idea where to. If it's back to the east coast I'll probably never get used to the humidity now that I've had a taste of the sweet life of warm days without it.

No. The weather is miserable and the people aren't genuine. Plus is very expensive and the pay is terrible.

Not at all. I've never lived in a state where people are rude and entitled. The entire state is like this, it's crazy!
I would love to move back to the desert where people are friendly, respectful and kind. I lived in the desert near a beautiful mountain where it snows every winter. I miss the smell of the rain, especially during monsoon season, and Mexican food. Tex-Mex is awful...just an excuse to put more velveeta (yuck!) on something. Ugh, I really dislike fake cheese...

Ambivalent. Hate my apartment, hate the ridiculous traffic, hate how expensive housing is. Love the diversity, love being in a city, love the cheaper airfares, love the fun roadtrips.
I have now lived in enough places that I now miss the places I used to live. I recently revisited one, and I realize how I idealize those places....until I return. LOL

Also ambivalent. I'm in the Hudson Valley area of NY. Taxes and cost of living are high and it's one of the few conservative bastions in an otherwise liberal state (I was a Women's Studies major. Enough said). BUT I live within 10 miles of FDR's home, the Vanderbilt Mansion (walking distance), the Culinary Institute of America, and other various landmarks. Non-chain restaurants are either owned, managed or staffed by culinary grads (bad for the diet, but who cares?), even the local diner was featured on Food Network. I'm surrounded by mountains and trails. In fact, I'll attach a pic of the view from when I was studying for my last credentialing exam a few weeks ago. This place is about 3 miles from me.

Yes. I live in a college town in the Midwest, and I like it very much. The town has good restaurants, music, film festival, and other cultural events I enjoy. There is a nice trail and park network, which I like for jogging, biking, and taking my kids to. The schools are good. The cost of living is very affordable. And, we're semi-close but not too close to my husband's and my families. I don't love the extreme Midwest weather (hot in the summer, cold in the winter), but I'm used to it and it doesn't bother me that much.

For the most part, I like it. I'm a native New Yorker. I love the diversity and all that it has to offer. The downside is the high cost of living here and I don't like its winters, but I know that at this point in my life, I really wouldn't be happy anywhere else.

I love everything about it except for the conservative politics (although oddly, I get along with the politicians themselves).
ETA: I'm furious about the violence that happened recently, however.

i hate it here!
but i have a good job that pays well and i was able to afford a house, so i will be staying.
this city is small, it's in Canada's manufacturing belt, so it's been hard hit by the recession and there's little ethnic diversity.
it's also home to one of the largest and oldest universities in Canada with a reputation for being a "rich kid" school. the night life caters to people under 25 and is concentrated in one area.

I love DC. i love city life in general. I cant afford to travel, but I can get a taste of many culters with in my own neighborhood. there is always free events so i dont have to spend money to enjoy myself. the food is a bit meh, but i have such a diverse group of friends who are great cooks, i'm not missing out.
if it wasnt so expensive and it wasnt so expense to live here, i could see myself staying on a bit longer if i got a better paying job.

I have a love/hate relationship with Dallas. The summer weather and the snobs are killing it for me.

No. I hate it here. I'm hoping to move soon. We have a place lined up, we just have to wait for some resisting evictees to clear out. It's a smaller town, but the people are friendly. Most the people here are jerks.

I actually really do like where I live. We have crappy weather most of the year, and the roads suck, and there's pretty much nothing to do if you don't drink. BUT. I like it here, all the same. I think it has more to do with the people I'm surrounded by, and making your own fun. It's a neat city that's definitely undergoing some changes, and getting younger, but it's not there yet.
I do wish I was closer to the beach, but what can you do? I'll settle for the Allegheny River. And Lake Erie.
I'll probably have to move, though, when it comes time to look for a job. That makes me kind of sad.

Generally, yes. Where I live is convenient to everything, yet private and surrounded by woods. On the downside, the cost of living is very high, especially housing.

I love NYC. I love the diversity. I love the access to just about anything. If you look hard enough, you can find just about anything. I love the 24/7 public transportation. I love that public transportation is a part of NYC life so that all kinds of people take it (other places, aside from how shoddy it was, a lot of people wouldn't dream of using it; I saw a whole lot of really poor, drunk/drugged people taking the bus). I love that I can walk anywhere here and that it's something everyone does (compare that to being asked if I needed a ride in other places because people simply do not walk). I love that at 1 or 2 AM, there are still people everywhere, and lots of lights. I get out late and I feel better about that than being out at 9 PM in some places, by which point it was dark as could be and not a soul in sight other than a car or two driving by.
I love the food. Because of the diversity there are tons of ethnic markets and small shops with lots of interesting finds. Lots of farmer's markets, many year-round. Lots of cooking work. Restaurants serving the food from just about any culture in the world.
Having been to places that could hardly be called cities and places that people insisted I'd like because "it's like NYC" (no, though nice try), I came to the conclusion that in North America it could only be NYC for me.
However, I love Latin American life, so I could see myself in Brazil, or Chile someday.
And the DR is a possibility because I'm from there and I think I could do some good business there.
I've also been considering going to work in Australia. I have a couple of connections that could help with that. From what I read and see, I could really love it there. They have great restaurants and bakeries.
