I was just reading an article on The Weather Channel to the kids about it. Planning to go outside to see it in about an hour or so when it's at its supermoon-fullest!

Thank you for the reminder! Can't see it here, yet. I'll go back out again when it's fully dark.

It's really neat, but a phone pic in an urban setting won't coney it very well.

it's so.... bright, lol. Really, it hurts to look at and you can barely see the dark patches. I didn't notice it being larger than normal.

As soon as I saw this thread earlier my thought was "damnit, I missed the moon tonight" For two days I had a mental note to check it out, but I saw this around 45 mins after the rising (when it's really impressive).

When I did check it out it was pretty like full moons always are, but I couldn't tell that it was any brighter or larger appearing than usual.

Amending this...it definitely lit up my backyard more than usual last night (noticed that getting into bed around midnight). Apparently my eyes can't tell the difference when staring directly at it

Dang, I missed it. When I saw this thread I was too dog tired to look for the moon. But I woke up at 3am and stepped outside briefly to see it. I was too nervous about being outside in my robe (sans bra) and sleeping bonnet to go far. So I STILL haven't seen it. Poo.

Yahoo posted some great pictures from all over of it. Most were taken at dusk. I'd post a link but I'm on my phone.

I missed it. I'm off to check Maureen Johnson's twitter to see if she commented on the fact that it's called a super moon.

ETA: Hehehe! Of course she did.
