Can you bite into ice cream?

Like Tree1Likes

I cringe every time I see someone bite into ice cream. I can literally feel the pain in would cause me if I did the same thing. My teeth have been overly sensitive since I was a little kid.

Can you bite into ice cream? Anyone else have sensitive teeth? Do those special toothpastes really work?
I can, although I do have sensitive teeth.

Ime, special toothpastes don't work.

Dogs and nature abhor a vacuum.

Heck no, just the thought of it makes me cringe.

I use sensodyne it doesn't help much. I also use Colgate phosfur mouthwash because it has more fluoride than your average mouthwash, doesn't help much either.
Turtles: omg please don't put that in your moo moo

Nej: too late... moo moo has been infiltrated.
The only way I can eat ice cream is by biting and chewing it.

I was skeptical about the toothpaste. Thanks for the replies.

Biting into ice cream is definitely cringe-worthy!
Prior to my first pregnancy I couldn't. During that pregnancy and since I can, no problem. I wonder why that is...

I always wait until my ice cream gets a but melty before I eat it.

I just want to do what I want to do when I want to do it.
No, it makes me shudder to see.

I can now, but two years ago I couldn't drink or eat anything even a little cold--never mind ice cream. I had gum surgery and ended up with extremely sensitive teeth. I was given the prescription of Sensodyne for it. After finishing the one tube of that, I switched to the Sensodyne you can get in the stores. It does work. Very well, in fact. I can bite ice cream, drink ice cold drinks, chew ice, you name it. I never have issues with sensitivity anymore. Unless I stop using my Sensodyne or use something different for a day. It does work, but it only works if you use it every day and as your only toothpaste. It will also stop working if you use any mouthwash.

hehe, my best friend can't stand when people bite into ice cream...so I do it all the time to watch her cringe

heavens to betsey no!

I have to cut strawberries before I eat them. I have such sensitive teefs.
Noooo.

Shudder.

Bite into ice cream - shudder.
I get a weird headache when I do that. Also, when I drink something cold really fast.

Seeing people bite into popsicles - double-shudder.

People chewing ice - run away screaming!!!!!!
Good god no. *shudder*

I use the Sensodyne Pro Enamel toothpaste. It's the best of the sensitive toothpastes I've tried. I have exposed dentine as well as well as sensitive teeth. Too much brushing!
Fat does not make you fat. It's actually pretty important.
I can do it but it's just not right somehow! I do like biting into ice lollies though and always eat the ice at the bottom of a glass. damsel_fly would hate me!

I can't do it with my front teeth. *cringe*

But if I bite with my side teeth or back teeth (pardon my technical language) then I can do it, only if I have to finish it in a hurry.

when will your favs?

This topic is funny to me because when I was a kid my dad actually used to make us bite our ice cream. If you were licking your ice cream cone or novelty he'd be standing there insisting "Bite it! It's gonna melt!" Every time, Dude. Even popsicles. It was weird.

I use straws whenever possible to avoid being offensive to anyone and to avoid the pain.

And, with ice cream, I make really funny faces in moving the ice cream around inside my mouth so that it doesn't settle in one place too long--all of my teeth are sensitive. I usually only eat it in the privacy of my own home.
OK, I admit it.....I'm an alias! I wasn't born with the name Honeycurls!
Dood, get over it; there's no time limit on lurking.
