I would love the orange if it was shorter. I could see a puppy totally making me trip!

Who ever thought of renting out dresses?!?!?! I'm still trying to wrap my head around it.

I'm really falling for the one shoulder dresses. This is one of my favorites:

Nicoletta Dress | Rent The Runway

I'm going to go to Kohl's this weekend and see what they have. I'm also going to look more into the dress rental. I will report back with my progress.

Thanks everyone again for all the help!

She bought a pair of wedges with a mulitcolored chevron heel to go with the dress. Keep looking. You will find something.

It sounds like a fun event.

Thanks Medussa!!

What kind of dress is it? So many dresses seem to have those built in bra things. thats what i dont fit into!!
I'll do my best to describe it.

It's black, sleeveless, with a crew neckline, like this. It falls slightly above the knee and has a full skirt, like this, but not as short. The skirt has a layer of chiffon over it, with a black chiffon sash attached, that can be tied in the front or back. I can't remember who makes it but I know I got it at Loehmann's.

I've got almost 3" on you, so it would be longer on you.
By the way, it has no built in bra, which is why I think it fit my friend on the top.

I have been looking aroung online. I think my safest bet would be to pick a dress from Kohls. if it doesnt fit, I can easily get a refund, and i lose nothing. and if nessecary i can order maybe 2 to double my chances of finding the best fit.

These are my top choices:

Pros: color, i can tie the back to tighten,
Cons: I dont know if the black shoes i have with go with it, no accessaries

pros: i really like this dress, tie in the back, may already have shoes
cons: top portion may not fit properly

pros: love the design and coor, have shoes and accessories.
cons: not too wild about the bubble skirt.
Not sure if you're looking for votes, but if you are, mine is for dress #2.

I love #2 as well. I'm really thinking of just ordering it in 2 sizes and hoping at least one will fit. The dress is $38 and I wont need shoes just a purse and maybe a necklace or something.

Thanks for the advice everyone, but apparently this year some new volunteers were "complaining" about dressing up and having to deal with dogs. So they changed the dressed code for the volunteers, to dress black pants and black top. The volunteer coordinator said that the volunteers from previous years enjoy getting dolled up, but this year there seems to be a much younger group of volunteers, and they dont seem to agree.

I was looking forward to getting all dressy!

YES!! I was so peeved!! After all this consulting and searching for the perfect dress!! I could had been doing something else with my time.

I have decided to wear my original black dress as top and throw on a pair of black pants under. I am wearing a dress darnit!!
I had such an awesome time!! My doggie date was a jack russel mix named Radish. He was so timid I ended up carrying him most of the night. My arms are so sore! But there were several people fighting over him and by the end of the night someone put in an application to begin the adoption process!! This guy was great. He actually tried to take Radish home last night! Radish loved him. There was also another couple who really wanted him. They said, "I have a bigger check book! Radish is ours!!!" Radish was a big hit and became a celebrity last night!! People were chasing me down! "Let me hold Radish" "I want Radish!" Radish just ate it up! I'll try to post some pics later.
I love the name Radish!!

I'm devestated!!! I found out yesterday that the guy who was suppose to take take Radish couldnt. His wife said no! WTF!?!?!?

I feel so horrible for Radish! What sucks so bad is others were interested, but thought this guy was going to adopt Radish so they backed away! I'm so angry. I couldnt even bring myself to go see Radish Yesterday.
here is a link to some of the pics from bark ball:

pic 21 is of Radish and who was assumed to be his new daddy.

I'm in pic 8 (I think) with Radish.
