Do you buy replica bags?

I buy whatever purses I like. None of them are fake designer bags or real designer bags, simply because I don't happen to like any designer bags.
My sister is forever giving me Coach bags. I wear them a couple times to please her and then I sell them. They just aren't my thing. Some of my favorite purses came from the dollar store or ebay.
Now ask me if I ever buy fake Harley boots and I'd say no. I'll buy them used, but I won't buy them fake.

Nope. If I can't afford the real deal, I'll just go without.

Nope. I buy cheap purses because I like to change styles frequently, but as others have stated, knockoffs are usually even cheaper looking than a comparable purse at Target or Payless.

No. I like things to last.

ETA: One of the most ridiculous things I see is women who look like slobs, dressed in the sloppiest clothes with dirty feet and ragged toenails, wearing flip flops and carrying a "designer" bag. It screams fake.

Ladies, you aren't fooling anyone.

No, never ever.
If I can afford a purse I like, I will buy it.
If I can t, I ll go with a Walmart or market bag that I like.

I am sloppy in many ways.
But I love really good bags and shoes. Paired with my Old Navy or walmart clothing.
(or -on sale- Jones New York, my one and only really well fitting brand).

If your bag is fake, I d know; but does that matter to anyone? Not at all.

I buy what I like and can afford. I would like to add that my 8yo Coach hobo and 6 yo leather Juicy purse have stood the test of time. I rotate them frequently and they have definitely paid for themselves.

I don't buy replicas and I don't have any luxury brand bags. I consider bags that cost $500+ to be luxury. I do have some expensive bags but they are just Coach. I have three that I bought prior to everyone and their mother carrying them. My husband bought me a new one this last Christmas and the quality sucks and the leather is like 1/4 the thickness of my old bags. I was disappointed but didn't take it back because he really thought he did something great. I would rather buy a replica of that bag since the quality would probably be the same but the price a lot better. I'm waiting for this thing to fall apart at any minute.
Are we talking about replica bags bought online or bought on the street? Does it make a difference?

I once bought a $275 Coach bag. I was single, no kids, I left it on the couch and stared at it for a whole weekend. I took it back on Monday. It just wasnt me.

I rotate bags too often.

I do have a Coach wallet. It was about $60. I got it for Christmas several years ago. Its bulky and awkward to open and close.

I do love buying bags. I buy a lot of them.

ND, I have an Aerosmith bag too

I agree with what was posted upthread about fakes devaluing the brand. Even if I were into them, I wouldn't buy an LV Mono because they're so ubiquitous and almost every style has been faked.
No, it's stealing and I have seen reports that the money goes to support things like terrorism, human trafficking, etc.
I haven't got the slightest idea how to change people, but I still keep a long list of prospective candidates just in case I should ever figure it out.
I think big fancy logo bags, with all the glittery stuff that seems to hangs off them now (why?), whether real or fake, look dumb with a really dressed down look, like cut-offs and flip-flops, or sweatpants and a sweatshirt. A cute dressed down look is different, imo, although I just don't like an overdone, super-loud, razzle-dazzle bag no matter the situation.

Sadly, the plain bags I tend to like most also cost a mint. If I weren't so fickle, maybe I'd make the investment, but knowing it will eventually wind up hanging off my closet door, keeps me from buying. Plus, there are so many really nice bags available second-hand that I mostly shop that way. It solves my leather dilemma, and saves me $$$.

No, but mainly because I hate the idea that labels/brands are important. If you can afford a fancy label and want it, go ahead. If you can't then buy something you can afford and is equally as cute. Buying a knockoff is like some kind of validation that's it's about the label and not the quality or look of the bag, which I completely disagree with.

I used to collect Coach bags back in the day (1990-2000). But now the brand reeks of tacky due to al the fakes, the declining quality of the real ones and that damn awful "signature" jacard fabric line , so I don't mess w/ Coach anymore. I sold (ie, gave away) most of them at consignment shops or on ebay. And honestly, I'm almost embarrassed to carry the few I still have.

A recent thread on a Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene Trevi for sale (against the rules, btw) got me thinking about replica bags and their popularity. It was very obvious to me that the bag in question was a fake. Have you ever bought or do you buy replica bags?

If so, why? If not, why not?

But as for me.. No. I don't buy the fakes or the real ones. Though I could afford the real. I do know I'm definitely in the minority on this probably but in general, the idea of these handbags, high end designer shoes and clothes irk me whether they are real or fake. I've just never been materalistic and to me it makes no difference if the bag has a high end designer's name or logo on it or not..as long as it serves it's purpose, I like it, and it's a quality product. I also boycott MAC (and always have) because I just can't stand the image that I think it represents.
