Default i'm SO dry!

i'm in a major humidity city, even still, my hands are super dry, my scalp is super dry and even my eyes feel dry. my skin that is normally oily is well "normal", not mad about that. outside of drinking more water, what can i do? i've been drinking more water but that seems to have me running to the restroom all day especially since i already drink a good amount anyway.

please share tips of how to keep your body hydrated!

Are you good on your essential fatty acid uptake? I've read that that makes a difference.

Siri types my posts for me.

Are you putting your mousturizer on while your skin is still damp?

Also, I've read that while your body rehydrates, initially you go to the bathroom more (re: water), but when you're back to normal, that regulates.

My derm recommends take a bath or shower, and with skin still damp (what Claudine 19 recommends) slather all over with gobs of Aquaphor (available in any drugstore). Wear light cotton pjs and sleep.

Aso or in addition to the capsule with the fatty acids, can you up them in your diet? I often read that pills don't do quite what food does (in other contexts though - like calcium).

Try some nuts every day, avocado, salmon. Also, what moisturizer are you using?

Let us know how you are doing with this.
ETA: Also check your diet for some other important skin nutrients like zinc and Vit. A. Try sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, flaxseeds are great - a handful every day with the nuts. Also sweet potato, and tomatoes.

thanks for the tips so far!

yes i moisturize when wet. i do have more fragrance lotions than theraputic stuff. perhaps i need to switch.

since i only eat seafood and vegetarian, not chicken, beef, pork i tend to get in a lot of veggies and salmon, etc. i also eat my share of nuts. i take the supplements as a back up because i hear a lot of our food is pretty depleted of vital nutrients. i started taking a really good plant based zinc several months ago when the girl in whole foods recommended it to me. i started it for my acne, i think it's helped a lot with my skin. i have been very consistent with this!

i drink a lot of water because in myfitnesspal they have you recording your glasses consumed per day. i think i'm hydrated because my urine is almost clear.

even now if i look at the skin between my fingers, dry and peeling. i think i just need to up my topical moisturizer game.

When I feel dry like this, I lotion at night and add a few drops of liquid lanolin, and really make sure to massage it in the affected areas (between fingers, cuticles, feet and elbows.

when i'm super dry i go old school.
after shower while still wet i apply baby oil.
it's works!

to combat dryness i use chagrin valley bar soap for my hair and aubrey's honeysuckle rose conditioner. you'll be soft and succulent in no time.

and if you're really super duper dry and you have a little $ to spend: true blue super rich body cream
