I have been tossing around the idea of a new car. I got really close last fall. Background-I have a 2008 Honda Civic that I bought in 2007. I put a lot of miles on my car-it has 87,000, almost 88,000 miles on it. I love this car. It has never given me any problems. Regular oil changes and new tires a couple of years ago. But with the amount I drive and often by myself I am thinking it may be time to go new again.

I test drove a 2012 Honda Civic last fall. Overall I liked it. It's a bit bigger than my current Civic. My only issue was the interior seemed cheaper than mine. B is all about Hyundai lately. I have not sat in one or test drove one. Now, this will sound really lame but my next door neighbors just bought a Sonata and Elantra. B also just bought his mom a Sonata. I am not sure I want the same car as my neighbors and B's mom. Craycray I know!!

My dealership that I bought my Honda from also has a Hyundai dealership.

Should I get over my weirdness and check out the Hyundai, just realize that not every car is going to be exactly how I want it (interior of the 2012 Civic), or wait until the 2013 Civic comes out and see if any changes? WWYD?

Go ahead and try out the Hyundai! I mean everyone is buying it for a reason and that reason must be good! Just try it out and see for yourself and then if you don't like it then you dont have to get it!

First off I'm loyal to Honda/Acura though we have test driven & looked at others. That being said...

If it's a purchase & not a lease I would wait for the civic and/or look at other Honda/Acura in the meantime

I say if you're considering a big purchase that you should absolutely try out other options! You never really know, you may get into that car and hate it or you might climb in and fall in love with the interior and how it drives.

Have you thought about looking at other comparable vehicles as well? I know it's a pain to shop around and deal with sales people, but there might be something out there you love and you don't even know it yet.

Wait for the 2013 civic. The 2012 reviews aren't great and Honda is fixing some issues. I have a crv myself!

B had said that too. Nothing crazy but just not usual honda quality. I wonder if it had to do them trying to get cars out after the earthquake. I know they had real supply problems.

I'd probably test drive the Hyundai, just to say you did. Who knows, you might love it. If it's not what you want, I'd wait for the 2013s to come out.
