Question that people ask that make ya go 'DUH'!
Them: Your hair is purple.
Me: Yes.
Them: Do you like it?
Me: Yes.
Them: Why did you do it?
Me: Because I like it.
The conversation when like this for a few more minutes.
I really, really love having purple hair.
Them: Did those piercings hurt?
Me: Some.
Them: Were you mad at yourself?

People used to ask me if my daughters hair was real when she was like 2 or younger. Seriously, do they really think I would take the time to curl a baby's hair like that? Duh.

Oh the questions I get at work!!
Me: 911. What is the address of your emergency?
Them:
*What time does the sun set?
*What time does the sun rise?
*Will you send an officer to my house to pick up the trash? A stray dog tore into it and spread it all over my lawn. They're supposed to protect and serve me, right? Doesn't this fall under serve? It doesn't! Well what am I supposed to do then?
*Will you call the power/phone/water company for me?
*What's the number to pizza hut?
*My phone is disconnected and I can only dial 911. Will you call my brother for me and tell him I'm too drunk to drive to his house tonight?
I could go on for days.

I've heard of people calling 911 to ask when and what "dusk" is.

I'd never quit handing them out.
Claudine, yes. They do. You can actually search funny 911's on YouTube and hear loads of... examples.

My mom has been in 911 dispatch for 25+ years, and I've heard all of Fifi's and more.
There's no way I could do that work and not snark-sass all over the place constantly.

((((HUGS)))) to your mom. It does get very difficult, at times, and unfortunately 'those times' have increased dramatically. This is why you see some dispatchers in the headlines due to snarky comments. You have to shake it off and laugh though.

My husband is a mechanic, he gets a lot of, "I'll gladly pay you next month if you work on my car today!" Well, sometimes they ask first. The dumbest part is, they get really irate when he says no. These are not people he knows. These are strangers who come in off the street and seem to think it's so unreasonable that they expect payment at time of service. They are shocked that they won't take their word. They always say the same thing, I need my car to get to work, I have bills and kids to feed. They say This is their job and they too need to get paid so they can pay their bills and feed kids, but that doesn't seem to register on them.

Do you have Christmas in Australia?
December is summer in Australia, does that mean you have Christmas in July?
Do you speak English in Australia?
I love your Australian accent. Of course, we Americans don't have an accent.

No, I put them on and flew here.
You have two master's degree? You must be smart.
No, actually I'm retarded.
I bet you hate having curly hair, right?
I don't think you want to go there.

--Is that a perm?
--Where did your daughter get that curly hair?
--How did you end up with blonde kids?
--How come you don't have an SUV/minivan if you have kids?
--You listen to rap/rock/pop/hair bands/anything other than classical? (apparently, I look like I only listen to classical music...I mean, I like classical but not exclusively!)

I have been asked if my husband is the father of my kids. They look like him, so I would have to say yes.
