Damn...now I want some old school Dr. Scholls. They've brought back the original...seems they're cheaper than the new "originality" model...$44-$60 depending on store:

I had a pair of those when I was a teenager. I loved them!

Mine were white, like these:

I like the red suede pair that RCW posted.

yeah maybe i need to look around at other stores. $45 is steep too for the old model. i had some as a kid too and they really were good shoes at a reasonable price. i'm still they're still good but i got sticker shock! i'll look on zappos.

I get a Footsmart catalog like every few months since I bought a pair from their amazon store. Dr. Scholl's has high priced ones like you find in there and they used to have much cheaper ones on walmart's site. IDK if they still do. I was buying a pair of their sandals each summer but mine have been lasting me so I haven't checked wally's site lately. My mom bought a pair of Dr. Scholls off one of those ads that come in the paper with the coupons every week. She loved them but they only last her 1 summer cause she wore them all the time.

I have 2 pairs of Dr. Scholls sandals, 1 from last summer, 1 from the summer before. They're still going strong. I haven't tried the more upscale line. I also have a pair of Dr. Scholls clogs, wearing them right now. I got them from walmart for $6. Last time I checked Walmart's website for DS sandals, I only saw tennis shoes. This was late spring. I'd like another pair even though I don't need them. May look around later this summer.

Inflation? They couldn't have been that cheap back then that $46 is expensive now.

The "toe hump" seems smaller than they used to be though. That was the greatest feature of the old Dr. Scholls...that big hump to grip with your toes. It was what kept them on your feet!

I used to work for the big pharmaceutical company that owned Dr. Scholls. We used to be able to buy the sandals for about $1. I wish I had thought ahead and stockpiled a lifetime supply of them.

I remember when we used to be able to buy them at local independent drugstores. They were on a revolving rack.

The tan girls always wore the white strap color. Showed off their tan legs. The hard sole was too much for me.

Actually, the original ones are more expensive then the Originality ones. I just got two pairs from shoebuy.com Dr. Scholls Originality - Inky Navy Atanado Leather - Free Shipping & Return Shipping - Shoebuy.com Cheaper then the Dr. Schools website, free shipping and they usually have a coupon. The one on the homepage is 15%/

The one on the homepage is SUMMER15. There's one on retailmenot.com for 25%--EMLSURPRISE25. One thing I read is 25% is good until 6/11. I've only had the first pair for a week or two. Haven't "worn" them in yet so they are comfortable to wear all of the time. Just looked at the sole, it's better then the last ones I got that had a cork kind of platform. These look like they could actually be repaired.

kathymack thank you, thank you!!!!!!

do they run small, large or true to size? i'm just asking because there are no half sizes. i typically were a 10 in an open toe, open heel and 11 in a closed toe, closed heel and sometimes a 10.5 if i can find it.

My foot is really wide. If I can't buy a "wide" with shoe, I'm an 8. If I can find a "W," I'm a 7 1/2. I have always bought the 8's with no problem. So, I don't know if that helps. If you've bought them in the past, then buy that size. They run the same.

Because I didn't know if I'd like these, I bought one pair (free shipping.) Bought the second when I found out that I liked the first. Pretty sure you can return them if the fit isn't right (when you try them on, but before you wear them.)

Other thought is to find a store the has them and try them on.
