It just jogged my brain!

I'm wondering, what kind of shoes are the healthcare workers of NC wearing?? I'm a student PTA with clinicals starting this semester, and I need comfier shoes pronto. BUT I don't know how I feel about spending a ton of money on shoes that I may one day have to throw away because I get... stuff... on them. Hellooooo hospitals....

Any super sturdy, comfy, maybe even machine washable and not hideous shoes out there for folks like us?! Nurses I'm calling to you!

I used to have a pair of birkis clogs that I loved. I could remove the insole to clean the shoe & replace it when necessary, which saved me money from buying new shoes repeatedly.

the only thing that turns me off of clogs is the lack of backing to the shoes. I wouldn't want my feet slipping out while doing a transfer or basically doing exercises in.

I work retail, not medical, but I love my Alegrias. They do a lot of marketing to the nursing community.

I think you'd be surprised by some clogs... According to my sister (a nurse), her pair (Can't remember the brand at the moment.They're hideous, but so comfortable) stay on just fine, because they fit really well. I'm sure it depends on the shoe, but if they're cut right, it seems like you shouldn't have to worry too much about the shoe slipping off.

Another vote for Danskos. I'm a physical therapist and have had no issues doing transfers, exercises, etc with my patients in these shoes. The patent leather shoes are easy to clean with a clorox wipe... no icky stuff!

I have three pair Love them!!
