Any curlies from around there?

I just received a job offer in Harrisburg! I'm very excited about this opportunity. My start date is in two weeks and I need to find a place to live.

What area of town would you recommend for a single twentysomething?

Any other interesting pointers or tidbits are appreciated too!!

Not from around there but we did stop and spend a night there on our way home from New Jersey a couple years ago. The downtown area is really nice and a lot of fun. Looks like a great town for a young person with a new job. Good luck and congratulations.

Thanks for the response!

I currently live 5 hours away and have only been there once for the interview. I didn't have a chance to look around to much because I was so busy while I was there and I didn't want to get my hopes up.

I've started looking at places online but there are just so many and I wasn't allotted much time!!!

I'm going to dive back at the beginning of the week and look in person. I feel so overwhelmed. I'm not even sure where to start my search. There are a few places close to downtown that look appealing

My coworker said anywhere outside the city of H'burg is good: Camp Hill, Pembrook, Mechanicsburg, Susquehanna Twp.

Hi. I don't live there but my boyfriend does, so I'm up there every other weekend!

His address is Harrisburg, but he actually lives close to Hershey Park in an area called Manada Hills. Its about a 15 minute drive to the city itself. It's a very nice area, but not sure how fun it would be for a single 20-something. I would suggest looking at areas closer to the city. I think 2nd Street is where all the fun happens.. Bars, restaurants, ect.

If you like seafood I very highly recommend a visit to the Devon Seafood Grille in Hershey!!

And the Hershey Pantry for breakfast-- but not on a weekend during the summer when it's mobbed with all the families visiting the Park!!

Mechanicsburg
There is a very fun bar in Mechanicsburg called Buck Wilds. They have live music and a mechanical bull!
