I hate stripbars. Went once...after 15 minutes...I had enough. But this....at least they will look like their pictures unlike the stripbar. LOL!.
...this movie calls for Movie Tavern...where you can buy drinks and watch...

I guess even 'good' actors want to make a fun, amusing movie once in awhile.
I'm not sure how people see anything negative after seeing the trailer. Humor, dancing, good looking men, love story. Not all movies are supposed to be serious and thought provoking. Some are purely for entertainment. As always, everyone is different. But I for one need something mindless and fun sometimes.
Our theater has a bar in it so I see this as a great Ladies Nite Out movie for sure!

I may not see it in theaters, but I'm definitely thinking I'll rent it once it's on DVD/blu ray! Jeepy makes some very good points!

My older sister went to see it on Tuesday night and she said she and her friend were left disappointed. She wanted mindless fun but that's not what she got. From what my sis described, it sounded like the movie had a plot, but it was a bad one, or not as light and fun as one would expect from looking at the trailer.
So was the movie what everyone thought it would be?

I didn't end up watching it last week but I want to this weekend. Rotten tomatoes gave it really good reviews and they are not lenient and I almost always agree with their ratings (except on SATC).

There must be more to the story than a bunch of guys dancing and taking off their clothes.
ETA: Which must be the reason my sister didn't like it.

Unexpectedly went to see this on Saturday night with about ten of my girlfriends. Surprise girls night out, dinner-lingerie shower-male stripper movie in celebration of my wedding in a few weeks. I'll just say I was pleasantly surprised. Watching Channing Tatum break it down and dance to Genuwine's "Pony" was worth the $10 right there.

Oh, it was ridiculous. The ladies were so loud in the theatre here, you could hardly hear the movie! Love a man with rhythm. When he busted it out in the backwards hat, hoodie and sweats I was panty soup lol!
My girlfriends and I were saying "Dayum, to be an extra on the set of this movie.."

I saw it yesterday. Channing Tatum is very nice looking...a young Brad Pitt. Without him, I woud not have enjoyed the movie as much.
Honestly, Matthew McConeghy does nothing for at all for me and I don't understand what women see in him. Was his character in this movie supposed to be sexy at all or just a joke? Bc I just about lost my popcorn when I caught the asz crack shot. OMG
I did not think The Kid (Adam) was cute either.
Olivia Munn's character was creepy and made me sad.
It was a very sad movie overall, and I would say that's about par for the course for the lives of strippers.
Even their 4th of july beach party was gray and overcast.
Channing Tatum was the flick's only redeeming quality. I was sad when his character made the decision to do what he did bc I really admired how he was persuing his dreams.
Can we spoil here and really discuss it or not?

I didn't find he movie to be lighthearted and fun at all. I thought it touched on A LOT of serious, thought-provoking issues. But for all the beefcake (not complaining, mind you), the issues were not explored fully enough or resolved.

I didn't know he was in the movie. I loved him as Hilda's boyfriend on Ugly Betty.

No, not Adam Rodriguez (he's OK). I meant I do not think Alex Pettyfer (whose caracter's name is Adam) is cute.
