Default Has anyone used black soap?

Have you used the Shea Moisture body wash one?

I want to try it but my skin is easily dried out and I've heard the bar stuff is pretty drying.

Thoughts?

I use Alaffia's liquid black soap. It's not drying at all! Make sure you get a natural one. Some companies make black soap with dye (it's really brown soap) that stains.

Do you use it on your face?

My face isn't super sensitive but it is sensitive to too many treatments, and most oils break me out. And silicones too.

I'm pretty minimal when it comes to products. (Now)

No, because I'm pretty sure the PH is too high for me and would lead to breakouts, but I know some women do.

I'm glad you said that, and that you started this thread iroc. I believe this is the one they sell in my health food store. I'm always looking at it, but putting it back on the shelf. I'm doing a ACV run tomorrow so I'll pick some up.

Worn out iPhone. Need I say more?

I agree, watch out for artificial dyes. The soap shouldn't actually look completely black.

My aunt uses it on her face and body. She likes it.

I used a few different brand--bar and liquid--a few years ago. I don't remember any of them being drying. I was disappointed, though, because I kept hearing how amazing it was. It wasn't bad at all, it just didn't live up to the hype.

And I did use the Shea Moisture body wash. I liked it (never tried it on my face), just not enough buy again.

I buy my black soap from butter-n-bars.com and I use it to wash my face and body. Have been for the last 5 years. Nothing but high praise for (real) black soap

I see that one online often.

I was concerned about dryness, and how bar soap leaves a film all over my tub.

I tried the SheaMoisture black soap body wash and i LOVE it! My skin is prone to both dryness and oiliness (sp?) and the SheaMoisture body wash helps to balance my skin.
It's a bit pricey for me, $9.99 - $10.99, depending on where you purchase but it's definitely worth it.
