Here's what the bloodhound people recommend for cleaning the inside of the ear. This can clear up an infection and prevent.. Good stuff and much cheaper than the vet.

One good reason to only maintain a small circle of friends is that three out of four murders are committed by people who know the victim. ~George Carlin~

In regards to Vagazzling: They just want to get into the goods without worrying about getting scratched up by fake crystals. ~spring1onu~
i have two cairn terriers. i take them to pet smart for professional grooming about once a quarter. i bathe them as needed but i was told early on that frequent baths aren't good for their skin. i spray them with a washless shampoo to freshen them up. i use o very good desheding comb often. one has thicker, courser hair than the other and i can get some hair off him about twice a week. the others hair is thinner and doesn't seem to grow as fast. i clip their nails in between visits when they seem long and are clacking against my floors. i've learned to do that after we go for a long walk cause they're too tired to fight me

when i take them to the groomer i ask that they have cotton balls put in their ears because myles got a terrible ear infection after one visit. since then i've not had any issues. i clean their ears and eyes (with drops) as needed.

*** eta weird, pet smart added their own hyperlink to my message. i broke up the name so that wouldn't happen. urgh. i hate when technology takes over. ***
