Ed has developed a bald spot between two toes. I noticed he kept licking that part of his foot. It's not red, just bald. I'm guessing it must be itchy for him to keep doing it till its bald.

Anyone have any experience with this? My vet tech friend is going to get one the vets too look at some photos I've sent her of it. My local vet is closed right now.

Poor Eddy. I hope he feels better soon.

I've only had this happen with my dog. When it did, he was licking and scratching till it was raw. They have me a topical medicine (I think it had steroids?) to spray in the affected areas. It eventually went away and the hair grew back once he stopped licking it raw.

Buddy just did this. He ripped out a claw. I didn't even see blood.

Ed could have an irritant between the toes or something like stuck like cat litter.

Dogs get hot spots during the summer, but I don't know if that applies to cats as well.

I've had a good look at his foot and there doesn't seem to be anything there. The only thing I can think it can be is stress because there have been two cats in the building outside the apartment. He's not used to being so close to other cats, especially as they were both quite vocal.

I knew a cat that stress induced bald spots.

They make pheromone sprays and homeopathic pet calming aides here for stressed kitties. Perhaps those are available to you.

Yeah, Feliway. I saw promotions for them last week to calm down cats during fireworks. Not sure how well they work. I meant to read reviews on it.

I think it may be too early to really tell but Eddy has been a lot more chilled out since I plugged in the Feliway doo-hicky.

Either that or the rain has kept the other cats away.

I hope it works (feliway). It didn't help with Doodle's aggressiveness toward Hedwig. He's just a predator, SMDH, with coordination issues, which can make it comical.

Well the bare toes have a bit of pus between them now. I've put some antiseptic cream on the bare part (as per vets suggestion). It's quite funny because Ed's flicking his foot trying to get rid of the cream followed by occasional bunny kicks.

Hopefully this does the trick with the pus.

Man, this is getting grosser by the minute. My cat has gooey athletes foot.
