How well do you remember people? Do you think people remember you?
I found a one-night stand (two night, actually) from 24 years ago on FB just now. He was from Austria, a college student on a tour through America. I would bet a million dollars he doesn't remember me.
Do you remember people well? And do you think someone would remember you 25 years later?

I don't remember everyone, but the people I do remember are sometimes surprising. The people who remember me are sometimes surprising as well. Sometimes it's someone who I spent a lot of time around but sometimes it's someone I had one conversation with or something.

Most of the time, I remember faces, not names, even if I just chatted with someone for a few minutes. I might remember a one or two night stand's face if I ran into him, but not his name.

I have a memory like a steel trap - faces, names, incidents, approximate dates those incidents happened, etc.
(I'm not great w/ bdays, tho, but I'm OK.)
And yes, people tend to remember me. Always by sight, sometimes by name.

I remember faces. Always. If I met someone once, or even saw them somewhere a few times (walking down my street, at a restaurant), ill remember that I've seen them. But I rarely remember where that connection was made, or their names.

I forgot to say that people often do remember me and the circumstances where we met, though they rarely remember my name.

Generally I remember faces (even if I don't know how I remember them), but I'm terrible at names. I really have to work at learning people's names.

I remember people well (the events of knowing them, when it was, where, but I don't remember names well).
People seem to remember me but they often call me by my cousin's name (we are the same age and knew the same people growing up but look nothing alike).
springcurl - I recently found a guy on facebook that I got together with when I was in Mexico as a teen (39 years ago!). It was an amazing (and stupidly dangerous) adventure. I'm dying to send him a message but haven't yet.

I don't remember anyone. I can't even remember people who I went clear through K-12 with and there were only 30 people in K-8 with me, and 70 in 9-12!
I have no idea if people remember me.

I am pretty good at remembering people and rarely meet someone I don't. I often want to approach people I remember but find that I myself am not that memorable and am afraid of embarrassing myself. Usually I am surprised at some of the things people remember about me from high school or patients I treated long ago.

For the most part, I am like this as well. I have a hard time with some people from high school, that I really didn't interact much with, but other than that- I'm grand at the game of memory.

If I really knew them then I likely will remember them. If I didn't really know them at all but they knew who I was its awkward for me when they remember me and I have no clue who they are :/

This subject just came into play for me yesterday.
A cashier I recognized from somewhere rang me up at Home Depot yesterday. It took me a little while, but I remembered her short upper lip, and the way her teeth look as a result. I let my mind roam around for a while, and then I had it: she used to sell me pizza! And once she dropped the knife she was using to cut the slices, and I freaked a little when she merely wiped it, instead of washing it. (It had hit the floor, and I'm always nervous about getting sick again ever since I had Hep A.)
I'm sure it's no surprise, but I tend to know people by their dogs. I think of so and so as "Buster's Dad" or "Damsel's new Mom." Otherwise they get identities: "the coffee shop lady with the mole" or "that handsome icky guy with the moronic diamond in his ear."
I think sometimes people remember my red hair, but me as a person? Not so much. I like it that way.

I remember faces, and often names, for a long time. I generally operate under the assumption that people don't ever remember me, but I think they do a lot more often than I think. It's probably partially because of the hair that they remember me.

Hair!
I'm good remembering faces and names.
But, years after, "they" always say something about my hair!

I am horrible at names but I often remember faces and am generally very good at paying attention to traits and behaviors of people or silly details that I am able to identify that person to.

I'm inconsistent. Yesterday I ran into a guy who stopped me on the street. I could not for the life of me remember him. He was like "come on", which made me feel bad. I can remember his face enough to know that I know him from somewhere, a job, but I just can't place which job or remember anything involving him.
But I remember certain people and certain things about them quite well.
