IUD

So I had the IUD taken out...I got fibroids and a large benign cyst on my ovary...I get laparoscopic surgery to get the cyst removed. Dr put me on NuvaRing so far..it's made me a bit itchy...and also I'm spotting all the time. Dr told me to give it 2 months...saying the fibroids cause the heavy bleeding so they are probably causing my spotting. I can get those removed too but it will be full surgery so I will need to spend a night in the hospital. I'm afraid that if I don't get them out...and hormone birth control I use will cause this awful sorting all the time...

So what do u guys think?

Back on Cones,so now my routine is,wash with Deva No-Poo every other day or so. Occasionally use 365 sulfate free, maybe use low sulfate shampoo mixed with conditioner once every two weeks are longer. I condition with Aussie Moist or HEHH. I style with a little GF TN,and finish up with tons of GN Pure Clean Smoothing Cream. No frizz...slippy, happy hair.
I was reading what other people do... Like gettin tubes tied and uterus removed. I just know I spotted the whole time with Depo...now I am with this....does this mean any hormone birth control will do this? I can't deal with this

I have problems with all hormone birth control. All. So I had the Paraguard IUD inserted. The copper one. I had issues with that. Skin issues, heavy bleeding, infections, and consistent spare tire weight gain. I had that removed after a year and a half of subtle issues. I started taking Yaz BC its suggested for ppl w PMDD. I had debilitating migraines and and it made me itchy in my girly bits. No infection, just itchy. And that's a side effect.

I hate side effects. Hate them.

Now I'm looking for holistic treatments for fibroids and heavy bleeding....I'd really much rather go that route.

This is gonna kill me! Had to make an emergency call Gyno. I was spotting all last week...pretty regular period this week..heavy yesterday..today I am going thru a super jumbo tampon in 20 minutes...scared me to death! Dr said take it out...try a fresh one Monday if it doesn't stop I have to go back to dr. I was clotting...sorry to be graphic... But I thought I was bleeding to death. I've never seem them so large...it's terrifying. At this rate if the cyst removal doesn't stop the bleeding no more hormones. So far this made me break out...itch and bleed like never before. So it's either tubal ligation, Essure, diaphragm and or sponge. Anyone else with this kind of issue. I am really freaked!!

Goddess, I'm no health professional, but I think you need to stay away for hormonal BC. Period. You could be in that small percent that could have a clot and die from it--it happens really fast. I fear for your safety honestly with your descriptions of what's going on. And if I'm not wrong, the risk of blood clots with Nuvaring is higher than other BC (I read something recently, but I'm not sure if I'm quoting that right). I don't want to scare you, but your descriptions of what's going on are scaring me!

Were you on the Mirena before? Or Paragard?
I'm sorry your doing thru so many problems with ur birth control I spotted with nuva and had internal itching, discharge ugh. My period never went away with the depo. I have the mirena but I might get that taken out too n go back to the good ol generic bc bill it was really low dose and was great. I didn't read the whole thread but have u tried a generic bc pill?

By the way, dr told me to put it back in Monday, but it was when taking it out that I passed all the clots. So if he knew about those he may rather me not put it back in. I think ur right. I'm gonna go check out the sponge and suppositories tomorrow. I'll have to discuss other options with my dr once I get my cyst surgery.

Thanks in advance for any help everyone....I'm just so worried. Plus I am prone to depression...and I have anxiety already...I've read about this affecting people's moods badly too...considering I already tend to have issues....

Every now n then I get some pelvic pain, maybe once where it felt like bad cramps but other than that kinda mild. Sometimes I have random spotting but its full blood its kinda just tinted with color.
And I thought the hormone has been causing me to shed a lot more than I normally would. But that seems to have slowed so that may not have been the issue. Ive had it for about a yr and I haven't had many big issues with it at all.

Oh and with the pill I never took mine at exactly the same time everyday. I just kept it simple, when I wake up or when I go to bed. A couple hours shouldn't throw off it effectiveness. Esp if u followed that exact time thing for the first week or two so it can get established n ur system.
The pill was great, but once I had my daughter I thought that I would be absentminded n not take it everyday. Lol. But I only get it on like once a month so......lol my hubby is a otr truck driver so missing a day or taking it n the evening instead of that morning wouldn't have been an issue lol

Yeah...it sounds good I just worry about hormones now. Not to mention u get restrictions on what u can and can't take with it. Like I take st johns wart and I know that can increase the chance of breakthrough bleeding...but like my dr pointed out this wasn't breakthrough bleeding. If he was worried about my period before with going thru a super jumbo tampon and a pad in less than an hour...than now that I have the IUD out going thru a super jumbo in 20 minutes and these scary friggin clots can't all be cause of that.

I have the mirena and have been smooth sailing since I got it (over 2 yrs now). I haven't gained weight, no spotting, no pelvic pains, almost non-existent periods (YAY!!!). And most of all, not super emotional and no clockwork infections (like I was on nuvaring). Obviously, YMMV, but I love Mirena. Paragard was not a good option for you bec according to all my readings, it makes periods WORSE without fail--wanna guess that it was a man who invented that? (LOL). So if you were bleeding heavy before, you'll get it even worse.
Are you not planning on ever having children? Cause if that's the case I couldn't handle hormone birth control... even to "help" my PCOS it just made everything 1000 times worse. I had a tubal ligation and a uterine ablation. I've had horrible pregnancies and a terrible time with PCOS, periods, etc. I decided it was best for my health to have it done and it's definite worth considering if you don't want to have children from this point on.
Yeah...no kids for me...never wanted them...and I'm 34 now. Been feeling this way a long time. I'm just worried about possible side effects of ligation...heard of depression, hair issues not to mention the recovery time. And what are the chances of it throwing u in early menopause?

I was looking up that Essure, which is supposed to kinda do the same thing...takes a little longer but less invasive...not much recovery or actual surgery

And Coily...ur right. The paragard wasn't good for that reason. Now the first one I had was fine...but maybe I didn't have this cyst or these fibroids then...adding to the bleeding. I do need to find something secure and permanent. I may just have to do OTC stuff for now...save up some time off at work and get the tubes tied

I remember you saying you don't want kids and also thought of uterine ablation for you. My specialist has recommended I have one at 34 if I haven't gotten pregnant by then and continue to have heavy, irregular periods.

@Jess. I've read that with the ablation a hysterectomy tends to follow. Am I wrong? And the period was never like this till this last IUD. I figure the surgery will help with the heaviness and maybe hormone birth control is just not a good op for me. So many decisions! I'm researching everything...ive looked at tubal ligation and stuff too but that seems to possible thro u into menopause...I'm so not ready for that yet. Lol
