Authorities: Katherine Jackson missing but safe - Yahoo! omg!

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Katherine Jackson, the mother of Michael Jackson and the guardian of his three minor children, has been reported missing, but the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says she is with family members.

Paris Jackson, the 14-year-old daughter of the late legend, tweeted early Sunday morning that her grandmother was missing: "I haven't spoken with her in a week I want her home now," she posted from her Twitter account. She also tweeted a number for people to contact in case they saw the 82-year-old matriarch of the famous singing clan.

The sherriff's department said another family member officially reported her missing Saturday night because he couldn't speak with her and was concerned. While the authorities are trying to reach Katherine Jackson, they also say she is with family members.

The family drama unfolded days after it was revealed that some of her children had written a letter to the executors of Jackson's estate, alleging Michael Jackson's will, which left his fortune to his children, his mother and charity, was a fake.

The undated letter, signed by Janet, Randy, Tito, Rebbie and Jermaine Jackson, alleged that Katherine Jackson was being manipulated by the executors, John Branca and John McClain, and said her health had been affected, and she had suffered a mini-stroke.

The veracity of the letter was confirmed by Randy Jackson on Twitter; Janet Jackson retweeted his post (The estate has denied the accusations).

However, Paris Jackson lashed out at her uncle on Twitter, saying her grandmother was fine: "I will defend my beloved family member with all I have, even if it means from other family members." She later apologized, saying she just wanted to let people know that her grandmother did not have a stroke.

On Saturday, Jermaine Jackson tweeted that his mother was resting on the orders of a doctor in Arizona: "This is our mother and her health is paramount. We are not inventing or plotting anything.
We are following doctor's advice. Period.""
However, Paris Jackson tweeted on Sunday: "The same doctor that testified on behalf of dr murray saying my father was a drug addict (a lie) is caring for my grandmother ... just saying."

Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for the June 2009 propofol overdose death of Jackson at age 50. Katherine Jackson has been caring for Paris, Prince Michael and Blanket Jackson since their father's death. It is unclear who is taking care of the children in her absence. A representative for the Jackson brothers Jermaine, Jackie, Tito and Marlon, who are on a nationwide tour, did not immediately respond to an early Sunday morning request for comment, nor did a representative for Janet Jackson.

Paris is a 14 year old child.. what the heck is going on in that family that she feels the need to go to Twitter like this ? What a weird bunch. Sounds to me like some of them want to control Michael Jackson's estate.

I'm surprised Janet would be involved in this. She has her own money, and she's supposed to be the "normal" one.

I'm actually not surprised. Janet Jackson has never struck me as "normal". I think Janet got away from her family and because of her success was exposed to different people and more things.. but she still grew up in that family and it definitely has affected her. I don't think this is a matter of "money" for her.

I can remember interviews that she's done (I used to be a big fan of her music and follow interviews that she did) and boy did she seem just as nutty as fruitcake. I think Janet's "people" have been better at hiding her weirdness because she had a very lucrative career that they were highly invested in. Some of her Oprah interviews have been VERY telling.

I don't think there is much "normal" about anyone in their family.

Agreed. Also? Who is she staying with that she doesn't know where her gaurdian is?

How much estate could be left that the family is going off their rockers crazy for it? I thought Micheal was broke when he passed.

Thoes poor kids. They will never have any semblance of a normal life.

Cailin, I thought the same thing, but someone explained it to me. He has money in royalties or whatever from his music. He's far from broke.

I really hope she's ok. I read about the twittering the other day. I've been reading up on this family since MJ's passing, and I believe if the rumors are true that Debbie's friend Dr. Klein is the bio father of the oldest two, he should step up. I believe it's true, he practically came out and said said so. There would obviously be an agreement that he'd keep silent about it. However, MJ is gone and Katherine and Diana Ross are the ones MJ trusted to take care of his kids. I thought Diana Ross was in ill health, not sure at this point.

It was obvious what MJ thought about his family. These kids need someone on their side. Pray for their sake that Katherine is found well. My mom first told me and I couldn't find anything so thought her source was off. Still, few details... Bizarre. I think her family has nothing to do with Katherine's disapperance, but this is one strange family.

Whoops I scanned the original post and only read the bolded b/c I was in a hurry to call my mom and tell her it's confirmed by a reputable source, and find out what she heard. Didn't read that about the LA PD saying she's with family. What in the... maybe she's concerned for her safety but why would her grandkids have to go to the internet to try to locate her?

She can stay "missing," for all I care. She never seemed to defend her kids from her freak of a husband.

And Paris' tweet sounds either written by a PR person or something she heard an adult say and she just repeated it.

She's no longer "missing". Apparently she contacted authorities this morning but she's not back with her grandkids.

the youngest is of mj's kids is 10. how does a guardian leave a 10 year old and doesn't say where she's going and ends up in another state "resting". this confirms what i've always thought. she's not fit to raise the kids. most 82 year olds aren't fit to raise such young and active kids. did the adult children kidnap her? how did she end up in az "resting"? if i were paris and the other kids i'd feel abadoned. kathryn seemed nice in the recent oprah interview but the fact is, she's too old to provide proper supervision for three young kids. i don't know why michael would want them to be left with her and not one of his younger siblings. i thought janet would have been ideal, unless she didn't want them. i heard he wanted diana ross to take them but she didn't want the responsibility (understandably so). this is just a crazy story.

From what I read she initially had temporary guardianship granted by the courts then she was awarded full legal custody of them in 2009.

No.. Joe Jackson is alive. He's 83 years old.

There seems to be more than Katherine and MJ's kids that live in that house. So it doesn't seem that the children were left all alone. If they were.. I'm sure it would have been a big public scandal. I do remember a while back reading that LaToya was staying there as well as one of the Jackson brother's ex-wives and her kids. So I guess it's a full house.

Currently, Katherine Jackson is in Arizona with her daughter Rebbe trying to de-stress. She is in her 80's.

Yes. I was aware that they had moved.. but I had heard that other adult family members had been staying there and Rebbie Jackson was helping a lot.

I honestly do not think Katherine had been watching those kids all alone at ANY point besides very shorts amount of time if others weren't in the home. I think she is the legal guardian yes..but that Rebbe and others had been helping since day one. She was about 79 when she got the children..so I'm sure the courts wanted to make sure she had assistance. And with Rebbie involved I'm sure they felt better about giving Katherine the children.

I think what spawned Katherine being upset recently and becoming ill and ending up missing for a short time was this latest mess with some of her children signing that letter about MJ's estate and media reports. She probably went to see Rebbie in Arizona to find out what the heck was going on exactly.

Honestly, I think Rebbie should step in and start handling everything. Out of all the Jackson children she has seemed to be the most stable for the longest period of time. She's the only one that got away immediately when she turned 18 and got married to Nate Brown. She's been with that same husband since 1968 and has raised 3 children with him. They are still together.

So instead of sigining these stupid letters with her siblings..she should just petition the courts to handle all of her mother's affairs and get custody of MJ's kids. Yes she's 62 herself but she has 3 adult children that could help too.

Someone posted a recent photo of Katherine Jackson playing Uno at Rebbie's house.. smiling. She looked the picture of health for an 82 year old! Rebbie and other Jackson relatives (minus the other Jackson children) were all around the table smiling!

And at the Jackson Family Estate in Cali... Janet Jackson and Jermaine are outside looking to be in deep discussion. The police were called to the estate about a physical altercation.

TMZ posted a video of Janet, Paris, Randy, Prince ..and it looks very weird. It's hard to see it but I think they (the older Jacksons) are pretty ticked off that Paris is putting things on Twitter. I guess they feel like MJ's kids are out of control.
