Awwww, I grew up watching that show. My fav sit com as a kid.

I didn't realize he was that young. He's only thre yrs older than my parents. I guess he went bald prematurely and could play an older character. Even on All in the Family, Lionel was an adult. George and weezy were always considered middle aged.

I enjoyed every role he played. Very talented actor with terrific timing.

I read a story once, that Norman Lear saw him on Broadway and wanted to use him on TV. Hemsley didn't want to break his Broadway contract and Norman Lear said, however long it took he would wait for him. The result was the Jeffersons!

RIP - wonderful man who gave a lot of laughter and pleasure to so many people.

Loved him. Jeffersons, Amen, All in the Family.. loved his roles on all these shows and even tv movies I saw him in. He was such a good comedic actor!
