I don't get how you can be too old to come to a site for curly hair advice and stay to chat (yeah, it all started with the hair!). If I were 13 years older I'd feel the same about coming.

ETA: BTW - those 13 years would make me 30.

And why would someone have to have done something you don't like to be weirded out when you said it? That's a bit presumptive.

So anyway.......where I live you don't need to file a police report unless it's $1000.00 or more. Generally you can call the police and they will mail you a report to fill out. Just get an estimate at a body shop or your insurance company will send out an adjuster (I recommend both). If you have insurance, your insurance company will pay to fix your vehicle reguardless of who's fault it is. They will sue the other persons insurance company for pay back, and generally get to the bottom of it or negotiate. Generally it won't effect your premium if it's not your fault and you haven't had many other claims.
This is what I do for a living......day in and day out......dealing with insurance companies and auto accidents............I really don't have time to shoot myself I guess

Today I took the car to the shop and he took one look at it and said that it has more than visible damage. He said that the--- I can't remember the name of it, but it's something like the frame only Ford Focuses don't have frames. Anyway, the "frame" is pushed back and that it's definitely going to cost more than $1,100.

I've got a rental, and he thinks it'll take about 10 days to get it fixed.

It is a pain to be without your car. Get yourself a fun rental, to make up for it. I rented a Murano and had a blast driving it around in the snow we had during that week.

Last "accident" I was in someone hit my car while I was babysitting my dad. determining fault was never the problem, it was her insurance company. they came to look at the damage, and the insurance guy flat out lied, he refused to pay for a new side panel (the part damaged), claiming we could just mud it up, and that our side panels were so rusted out that he could put his fist through it which was a flat out lie we had no rust on our car, think he saw we had an older car ('85 cutlass) and thought it was a worthless car and he could get away with it. Little did he know we come from a long line of mechanics/racers and happen to be family friends with an owner of a large used car dealership who was more then happy to get his lawyers invovled.

my bad, just talked to my hubby/FIL and they said it sounds like the radiator support is what their are talking about and it should be fine after repairs as long as there is no damage to the wheel area. Sorry for jumping the gun there, just been ripped off so many times by mechanics didn't want to see it happen to someone else.

That was really nice. Are you this way all the time? Is it like your personal mission to try to run people off this board, Elicia? I haven't seen one post of your's that isn't riddled in snark. Instead of taking it upon yourself to make others accountable for their comments (which I still stand by my original comments), check yourself...

Frames can be pulled it isn't that big of a deal, Mark does this day after day. He has even replaced the whole frame on many vehicles. Usually the insurance companies don't look for structual damage and just write the estimate on visible damage. Anything the body men find will be filled under a supplement claim made by the doby shop to the insurance company. Body shops don't try to rip people off, there are so many little pieces that go into a car and most shops don't want to send out a vehicle that was put together like the insurance company wants.

Just wanted to respond to the OP and say I totally feel for ya. I was rear-ended a couple weeks ago, and the driver was doing a high rate of speed. It really sucks about your car, but I'm glad you are okay.
I wish I was feeling better...

All the paperwork really sucks, plus the pain and stuff too.
