Default How do you organize your jewelry?

Help!

I and building quite the collection and am struggling how to keep it clean and organized as it's currently living in my hall closet.

I have only a few expensive earrings so could probably downgrade the earring holder but some really nice necklaces and bracelets and the more delicate ones are always getting tangled and messed up.

What works for you? The space is small and the collection growing!

I live in Canada so the container store doesn't exist.

I have a free-standing jewelry armoire. Like this:

I also have a free standing Jewelry armoire. I love it. I use the larger bottom draws for my panty hose and things of that nature. They also make hanging jewelry holders if you've got some limited space.

I like this one because its a picture frame as well.

There are also free-standing or hanging mirror jewelry armoires that are pretty cool. Double duty!

Hubby made me something similar to spring1's first photo...although now I need a second one. LOL. I love it..my small studds etc that won't hang go into a small jewelry box in my closet ...or stay in the box they come in. I don't have many... But for the necklaces and bracelets...hanging is awesome!

I have the cherry version of the free standing mirror/armoire in the first photo that RCW posted.

It works well.

Not the most glamorous...I need to upgrade...but I bought a large threadspool holder from Jo-Ann's and I hang my earrings and necklaces and bracelets on it. Like this but bigger:

I put my pins and brooches in a regular jewelry box.

I would prefer to keep it out of sight as I live in a 300sq foot studio and don't really have a ton of room for another piece of furniture or anything cluttered. Great ideas though! keep em' coming!

I have an old jewelry box of my grandmother's. It has lined drawers and the like. Most of my stuff is not very nearly stuffed in the drawers, and its kind of in the way on my dresser, but I remember my mom having it in her room when I was growing up, and I can't bear to use anything else.

I'm actually looking to make one like the previous photos using wire mesh, do you have any idea where he got that mesh though? I've been looking online at home depot and lowes before I go to the actual stores, but it looks like they only have large quantities of that mesh.

I have one that hangs on a hanger with 40 pockets on both sides. I got it from amazon or walmart.

Oh, I totally want one of those hanging mirror jewelry armoires! This thread is so timely. My jewelry definitely needs some organizing.

You may want to try out in the garden section. They have something called hardware cloth that is usually near the fencing and you can get smaller rolls of it for around $15ish. You may also want to try radiator cover, that would probably be inside. It's got a screen look to it and is metal, but more decorative. You may even be able to paint it a pretty color since most spray paints these days adhere to almost anything.

That's a great idea about the spray paint, I had only thought about attaching the wire mesh to the back of a picture frame or something. Is the hardware cloth essentially the same thing as wire mesh, or serve the same function? I'll definitely be looking into both the radiator covers and hardware cloth.

Hardware cloth comes in different sizes, but it would be easy to hang earrings from or maybe put some small S hooks on for hanging necklaces. If you google images for it you'll get an idea of what it looks like. I'm wondering if window screen would work, it might be too tight a weave though. It would certainly be easier to cut than wire or metal.
