Ooooh I have an idea! Let's make things harder for pregnant teens who already have the odds against them by kicking them out of school! Brilliant!

...WAIT.

It's unbelievable that a public school is so confident they can get away with something like this.

I went to an all-girls Catholic high school, and I know at least one student who stayed and eventually graduated after having a baby (she had to repeat a year for time missed). If a Catholic school is more progressive than you, then you know your policies are f'ed up.

Isn't Louisiana also the state with the school teaching that the Loch Ness monster is real?

It's a charter school, so they probably CAN get away with it. The girls will just go to public school.

It's horrifying how little we progress the more we progress.

When I was in high school in the 70s, pregnant girls weren't allowed to come to school. They had to go to the pregnant girl high school. I forget the name but they offered support like child development, birth control, financial managment, and career planning.

My sister had her first child at 17. This was back in the 80's, but there were no pregnancy tests nor did they force her to leave the school. Due to the time missed, she had to repeat a year and graduated a year later than she should have, but that was it. This was at a public school.

Is it legal for this charter school to do this? It shouldn't be if they are taking public funds, but who knows anymore. Since this is happening in the same state that wants to teach its kids that the Loch Ness monster is real, I'm really not too surprised.

This makes me see red. How are they getting away with something so clearly illegal?

I notice the boys who are getting these girls pregnant aren't being kicked out.

What a ****ing surprise.

I'm too tired. I cannot think about stuff like this without getting too angry to type.
