LOL!! Lots of people do. I'm not a prude. I object to the song because of the situation her and Chris went through. It just didn't seem right that they would be doing such a song together after what had happened. BUT I do understand abuse (any kind) and how the cycle is difficult to end.

ETA: Nej, I agree. Abusive situations often leave the victim confused and sympathetic towards the abuser...and that's why the cycle is hard to end. "just leaving" is easier said than done in a lot of cases.

we learned a super cute chair routine in a chair dance class i took to this song. love it! with music i'm divided. sometimes i really focus in on the words. sometimes i go by the beat and rhythm and don't pay attention to the words. in zumba there are lots of songs i don't even know what they're saying but the beat is so hot i go for it. i don't literally interpret and personalize the lyrics of birthday cake so i can enjoy it for what it is for me. a nice little r&b/pop song.
