Fitness Challenge update. 2 months finished! 1.5 months to go. It's going by so fast.
Down 11.2 lbs. The trainer told me today that I'm probably the most improved of the group as far as form goes and that I really have good form now. Of course since I had never taken a gym class in my life and didn't know how to do one thing, I didn't have far to go before I improved. But still - yay me!
She says I'm one of the strongest in the group now too (and I'm one of the oldest so woohoo!). I've gone from using 4 and 5 lb weights to using 5 and 8 lb weights and occasionally 10 lb.
I worked out 29 days and a total of 40 hours in October. I can't figure out what I was doing with all that time before. Such an exciting life. : )

SO proud of you, Jeepy! You go, girlie I once lost 30 lbs just jogging 5 miles every other day, man, did I look sharp! Then I suffered a horrible accident while rollerblading, i broke my back couldn't run anymore.

It's been a few years so I am headed back to the gym. You hang in there sweetie, it will pay off I am so behind you! YAY Jeepie!

Yikes, sorry about your back! Glad it's getting well enough for you to get back to the gym.
Thanks for the support everyone!

I absolutely love reading your updates and I'm glad you're enjoying it and making such good progress. Your experiences make me want to go to the gym again.

Finishing up Week 11. Down 13.8 lbs and 11 inches. I'm amazed!
Eating great, working out like mad, ignoring the non-supportive eye-rolling negative comments from my family.
Even a smashed finger and awkward (but pain saving) finger guard haven't stopped me. My trainer says it looks like I was giving her the finger. (and maybe I am. hahaha.)
The owner of my regular gym keeps calling to make sure I'm coming back after the Challenge is over. He's giving me a good deal to re-up and it's a much better gym than the one at the Y so I'll be going back for sure. And looking forward to it which is weird for me to even say out loud. : )
And I have a calf muscle! That is an awesome thing.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

13lbs!! That is awesome!

I am so jealous! 13lbs feels like it may as well be 50lbs to me. I can't even keep 5 off (as I sit here with Tostitos and cheese dip).

As always, Jeepy, you are my hero.

Thanks guys!
MY hero is the girl in my building who talked me into doing the challenge. She has done 2 of them and has lost 45 lbs and 35 inches!! In the last 5 years she has lost over 110 lbs! No surgery. No diet pills. Just good food and exercise. She is my health hero.

Ugh, me too. I've been doing better the last week or two though. I've thought of this thread a couple times when I wanted to stay home and put on pjs but went to the gym instead!

I rarely brag but I have to a little - I came in 1st place for the special challenge that went from Oct 1st thru Nov 5th. It required a certain amount of time doing so many different types of exercises, etc. The total time required was 1350 minutes. I was done with that by Oct 18th and went on to double it by the end of the challenge.
I worked really hard and now I get to pat pat pat myself on the back! : )

Wow, only 2 more weeks to go! Down 14.6 lbs and such an improvement in what I can do as far as working out.
The past week has been kick boxing which I love.
I've been in first place for the overall challenge for the last 2 weeks. For the whole challenge I've averaged between 2nd and 3rd place. I'm proud of this mostly because I'm one of the oldest people in the group.
It has gone by so fast!

Jeep, I'm so proud of you!

I type that as I sit here debating on getting on the treadmill for a measly 30 minutes. I've gained about 13 lbs since we moved to CA and I'm just sorta stuck there, but then again I'm not doing anything to switch up what little I workout either. I think this is what they call a funk. You're an inspiration.

Fitness Challenge - done! 15 weeks of hard work - done! In the beginning I didn't think I'd make it through alive and now I'm going to miss it.
Down 16.2 lbs. Down 13.75". Big changes in muscle tone, strength, stamina in a mere 3 months. I can now do 150 crunches which I never thought I'd see the day. I already re-upped at my old gym to continue getting fit.
The banquet was today and I won 7 awards and 5 First Place prizes. I'm pretty darn proud of myself. : )

Excuse the hideous before and after pics (I hate my face) but it really shows the difference in 3 months.
