Heavy periods...suspected endometriosis

Like Tree1Likes

Hi everyone,

I haven't been on here for a while.

Don't read if your squeamish TMI.

I haven't been feeling well and I've already had one surgery (unrelated) and I'm feeling really weak at the moment.

It's worse during period. All I'm doing is sleeping when I get a chance. In the night I'm awake due to the pain I have throughout my cycle. I double up on thick pads during my period changing them every 1hour and a half. I can't use tampons due to the pain. I've tried the moon-cup but found it uncomfortable. I've found that when I was using the moon-cup I was loosing 100ml of blood a day in the first month. I've tried hormone treatment which resulted in me bleeding the whole time I was taking it. I've even been admitted into hospital so many times because of this pain, being dehydrated, diarherra, vomiting, and on a IV drip/antibiotics. It's so bad I can't even have a BM without screaming out in pain then passing out. I also get huge clots. I've suffered from the day I started having periods.

The next step is now surgery to diagnose and treat the endo next month which I'm dreading. Does anybody have experiences of laparoscopic surgery?

TIA
I've had lap surgery to check for endo but not treat it. Two tiny scars, no big deal. I sincerely hope you get it resolved, gyn problems suck

It helps to know what's wrong with me though. It's worrying about what the future holds. For years I thought it was normal but now it's getting worse with the blood loss. I'm taking multivitamins. The tailbone pain and sciatica pain is the worst along with servere period pain. My gyn thinks I have it in my bowel as I have bleeding from there up until ovulation then stops. My blood pressure and pulse goes up during my period. I'm dreading when I come round from the surgery. I know I'm going to be sore. I'll know what my options are when I have the follow up appt after surgery to discuss the findings.
Another cut? I think they can do 3. One each side of the pelvis and one under the navel. It's basically keyhole surgery.

I didn't find it to hurt too much afterwards. Uncomfortable but not painful, but then they were just looking not removing anything.

I had endo cysts between the vagina and rectum. Hormone treatment and the pill have sorted them out for now

What about fibroids...or cysts? I have those and am having bad bleeding too. I get my Gyno visit every year...but they never found any of this till they did a transvaginal ultrasound. Could that be ur issue?

Back on Cones,so now my routine is,wash with Deva No-Poo every other day or so. Occasionally use 365 sulfate free, maybe use low sulfate shampoo mixed with conditioner once every two weeks are longer. I condition with Aussie Moist or HEHH. I style with a little GF TN,and finish up with tons of GN Pure Clean Smoothing Cream. No frizz...slippy, happy hair.
Have your MD check your FSH and thyroid levels if the haven't yet. Also request an ultrasound of the uterus. I had problems very similar (not as severe) and it turned out I had multiple fibroids. There are 3 different kinds of fibroids classified by where they are in your uterus. If you are finished having children novasure will probably help. I had it done in December and haven't had a period since. Google novasure there is tons of info on it. Just make sure you insist on getting a diagnosis. Don't let them push your complaints, signs and symptoms aside!! Good luck!!

That good to know so I know what to expect. I'm pleased yours is under control. I can't take the combined oral because of my history with diabetes in the family and heart problems. I had headaches with both types. I'm not having injections or the coil. I'm going to try to control it through pain relief and diet. If that doesn't work I suppose that means more surgery. I do want children one day. I'll be devastated if I can't be a mum.

Sorry for taking so long to reply. I've been vomiting on and off for the last 4 days. I think I'm dehydrated as I'm getting headaches from vomiting so much. I'm going try to take small sips of water so often if I can't keep water down. I think I'll better go to hospital.
Oh god! Please go to the hospital...that sounds scary!

I got discharged from hospital earlier today.

I had a ultrasound and that came back normal ugh. Well I was feeling better until I had been given a new tablet. I refused to go home because I'm allergic to certain tablets. My doctor wanted me to go home. I bet the doctor was glad I stayed in for another night. I was sick then started feeling unwell. The pain almost killed me. I almost died last night. The doctors couldn't get a pulse and was off the charts. The doctor couldn't even find my pulse on my wrist at first. The heart monitor just went mad and flatlined. I was feeling hot, having shakes and sweat dripping off me. I thought I was having a heart attack. I had a ECG and more blood tests done. I have to ring the hospital for the results. I was in so much pain. I'm still not well. My pulse is still racing. I'm still in pain but not as bad. The doctors are bringing my op forward. I've got a bruise on my arm where they were pumping pain relief and fluids. The nurses gave me morphine last night and when I was admitted. I'm glad to be home and alive.
omg, how scary!! I'm glad you are home, but do you have somebody there to help look after you? It doesn't sound like you should be alone right now.

I hope you find an answer to your problems soon.
Jeez...that is awful. God! I really hope u get better. Certainly have someone with u if possible.

It really frightened me. My parents are looking after me now. I'm never alone. There's always someone around me. My mother is a RN. I've just taken tramadol and paracetamol. I will take more tramadol if I need to in the night. I hope it is endometriosis because this puts my mind at rest.

I'm going to rest now. I'm getting sleepy. I hope I can sleep tonight. I didn't sleep much in hospital.
I'm sorry you've been in so much pain, braidsntwists...I hope you feel better soon!
I have had 3 laproscopic surgerys for endometriosis... One was way back before I was married...my only indicator was constant pain...I hurt even sitting at my desk and working... got to where I couldn't work.

The other 2 were when we were trying for a baby. I had different symptoms that I didn't realize were endo. Pain during sex was the biggest one. I was lucky with my 2 later surgerys, I was a working with a doctor that endo was his speciality. I will say I got pregant 3 months after surgery with my son.

The biggest thing that keeps endo awayis birth control.. Some woman have it go away all together after they have kids. I've never heard of anyone having the issues youare with endo...although it may just be a secondary issue due to endo causing so much blood loss? Please get with a good experienced doctor...if endo is causing all this...surgery is a must and quickly.

The 2 surgerys I had close together...I remember being sore, bloated..and kind of felt like my insides were sloshing around. The gas they blow up your tummy with can be an issue too...it escapes your body through pores and can make you hurt all over. and I had 3 entry points bellybutton and 2 way down low. Nothing big...don't even see them today..due to c-sectio scar. LOL I will say I was up and around after a few days...by 2 weeks...good to go with little soreness. Just dpends on how much work they do...little/lot. etc.

I know the feeling of not being able to sit without pain. I have to lie down on my left side. My doctor thinks I have endo on my sciatic nerve and that's why I'm limping, bladder, bowel, and right ovary. I'm taking birth control at the moment and I'm still bleeding from Wednesday last week and no sign of stopping yet. My doctor said it would take a few weeks before the bleeding stops. It's making my symptoms worse but taken the edge off the pain on my my right side. I'm having it burnt off next month. My doctor has about 20+ years experience. I'm dreading the pain after surgery when they wake me up and GA starts to wear off. I hope my recovery doesn't have any setbacks like my appendectomy. I had 2 infections in the wound that was developing into a abscess reated with IV antibiotics and one chest infecton.
So sorry you are going through this.
