We won't talk about all my outdoor decorations, and fog machine, even though I live on top of a mountain and only have 3 trick or treaters. Lol

I buy the Martha Stewart Halloween handbook every year. 2 things I've always wanted to do...

Pumpkin porcupines are not particularly scary, but they are adorable path lights. And it's gives a girl a chance to use a drill.

Construction paper rats on the stairs... Kinda cool.

another idea for a "quiet room" - have people take turns reading chapters from horror classics like Frankenstein or Dracula.

If you have a favorite dip one cute idea is to cut flour tortillas with ghost, bat, pumpkin, etc... cookie cutters, bake them for a bit, and serve with the dip. I'll look at my Halloween magazine collection and see what else I can find.

How did I miss Kentucky fried WTF on a stick? So funny.

I 'm thinking of trying to make the stick thingings, but baking them. I dont know how well it will work out. I dont want to end up wasting food.

I saw a pin on Pinterest where they took hot dogs and made them look like fingers. Maybe you could look that up?

I was thinking about inviting a cousin. But quickly remember that last year at halloween she posted that halloween was a devil's holiday or something along those lines.

i wish i could remember the site, but i've seen finger cookies make of shortbread with an almond for a fingernail and food colouring to look like blood where they were cut off.

and there are instructions to make witch head cake pops on Epicurious.

If this one is a success we plan to have an end of the world party on dec 21! so mark your calender!

I dont know about this recipe, it looks cool but the recipe itself looks gross.

recipe:
    • 1 cup mayonnaise plus 1 tablespoon
    • 1 (10.5 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup
    • 1 (8 oz.) package of cream cheese softened
    • 1 (.25) envelope of Knox unflavored gelatin dissolved in 1/4 cup hot water
    • 1/2 cup minced scallions
    • 1 1/2 lbs. cooked bay shrimp
    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
    • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    • Pinch of salt
Directions
Use 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise to grease a 6-cup brain mold or a bunch of mini brain molds; set aside.

Pour contents of soup can in a medium saucepan and heat over medium until warm. Stir in cream cheese until melted. Stir in dissolved gelatin with water until blended. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.

Remove from heat and pour into brain mold. Chill until firm. Unmold on to a platter and serve with crackers.
