Default Is it too soon to talk Halloween?

I love Halloween and this year I am having a party. I actually live in a big enough house to really go all out and have fun. I plan to be a witch and use my three black kittens as props. It was my sister's idea to have the party and I was like "blah! NO!" But after the past few horrible months we have had, she insisted we needed to have a good time. So she's working on a Halloween playlist and I'm working on games and the menu. And we will both be working on decorations.

I have a lot of great games and drinks on the list, but does anyone have any other games or fun activites I could include? Is anyone else throwing a halloween bash?

ooooh, i would LOVE to, T! but my mom is having surgery on Oct 30th and i've got to go to Toronto to look after her.

one of my co-workers has a HUGE charity bash each year in the small town where she lives just west of the city. but there's no way for me to get there since i don't drive. she and her friends raise money for a family with a child with extreme special needs and it's grown so big that they have to rent a space that holds upwards of 200 people.

I have had Halloween parties for a few decades. At the last house I owned, it was on Trick or Treat night because we would get 350+ kids coming to the door. We and the neighbors would go all out. Lots of decorations, a big cemetery, a huge cauldron over a fire. We all dressed up. We'd hand out candy and cider Loud scary sounds and music. It was awesome fun. Some kids would cry because it was all pretty scary. But mostly it was a blast for everybody.
At my current house, I get no Trick or Treaters but the annual Halloween Parade (the largest night time parade in PA) goes right by my house so I have a big party. Chairs are lined up along the sidewalk by 9am. Some decorations and tons of food and drink. It's not a costume party but some people dress up. Since there are 10,000 walking the streets of our little town every year for this parade, I always end up with some strangers in my house. Hey, they never steal anything and usually just want to use the bathroom or get something hot to drink.
I will start working on the menu and shopping lists and getting the invites out in the next week.
Have fun with your party!!!

I'm not having a party, but I've been pinning decoration ideas on Pinterest. I get a ton of trick-or-treaters so I'm thinking of putting up a couple of decorations.

i have two games I think everyone would enjoy. One is bobbing for apples but I'm either going to do mini bottles of booze where they have to chug it. Or cut slashes into the apples to determine what shot they have to do.

another one is called "tempt your fate" I have balloons around the house filled with "fates" anyone willing to tempt their fate will pop one and get either a good fate or a bad fate. a good one good be a cany bar or something. a bad one good be eat a bug!! I know where to get edible bugs. This is going to be so much fun!

We don't have a party, but I just got out all my Fall and Halloween stuff out today to decorate! I'm doing it a little early because we'll have various family visiting over the next two and a half weeks and thought it might be nice to go ahead and have that done before they get here...tomorrow. Smart me, puling it all out to decorate the day before they arrive.

We have swarms of trick or treaters like I've never seen before in our neighborhood so I put a few things out front as well. Our neighbors have these HUGE spiders they put on their house and they are so awesome. I'll try to get a picture of those when they put them out, but they don't usually do it until right before Halloween.

there is a tiny, old-fashioned, family-owned department store here in London called Kingsmills. i walk past there on my way home most days and i am a regular in their kitchen department because they have SO many great kitchen gadgets!

they also have really cool Halloween decorations in the window. including one that i want to buy for my mom because she is a retired sommelier.

it shows the lower half of a woman's body; she is wearing striped stockings and heeled, lace-up boots and holding a glass of wine in one hand. the lettering on the banner says:

Witch Way to the Wine

it's only $19.50, which is good for a 4-foot long banner, but they only have the one in the window left with that saying.

i think i'm going to call them tomorrow and see if they'll sell it to me before i go home for Thanksgiving next weekend.

I have never been to a Halloween party after reaching adulthood. I went to parties and carnivals as a child and teenager.

I think my husband would so not dress up if I asked him to.

My office is incredibly conservative. I feel outrageous there if I wear bright colors! So I think I will wear something fun somehow. I have a fake nose piercing that I may wear with my normal business casual. And paint my nails black which would be out of character because I never, never paint my nails (toes.....sometimes). I really want to wear a black Goth wig but I am afraid that might cross a line there.....................

I'm not having a party, but I'm going to decorate the house a bit and dress up. My daughter is being a witch and she wanted me to be one too, so that's what I'm going to be. . My son will be a bat with vampire teeth and my husband will be a vampire.

The people on my block take Halloween very seriously. We have quite a few garages turned into haunted houses, and one house puts up a HUGE pirate ship with pirates, mermaids, and a bunch of other things. The house across the street from them puts the lifeboat on the lawn. It's awesome. I have to see if I can find a picture from last year. They go crazy at Christmas too.

Ninja, wanna join me passing out candy? We can have a mini party. I was thinking about actually dressing up this year. Either Smurfette or Wilma from the Flintstones. Can you tell I have a white dress that needs one more wear :-)

That's only part of the exhibit. There's so much I couldn't get it all in one shot.

I'm thinking about hanging these from my trees (a glow stick, inside of a balloon, inside of stockings)
