Default The Princess Bride

I saw this for the first time about a month ago. I really enjoyed it. I now see what all the hullabaloo is about. My favorite phrase to say to my dog now is "as you wish."

It is on AMC right now.

Read the book! It's way funnier, has all sorts of great scenes omitted from the movie, and it's also a postmodernist story about coming to terms with the unfairness of life.

I love that movie! My DH was the one who introduced me to it, actually.

When it first came out like 25 years ago I remember telling my best friend, "We're seeing this." I think we ended up seeing it Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday. I liked the book but for pure sweetness I actually liked the movie better. I'm watching it right now, actually!

I am watching it right now! My husband just joked that I should know all the words seeing as I watch it so much. DD2 was asking me about Andre the Giant. I loved his character.

Never seen it. Netflix doesn't have it either, so I don't know that I'll ever see it. You kind of know all the lines without ever seeing it though, since it's quoted so much.

I know it's not the same, but I'm fine with not seeing it if it never pops up on Netflix.

Definitely one of my "Desert Island" movie picks. (ya know, if there were a DVD player on that deserted island...) I've loved it since the first time I saw it in 9th grade.

No more rhymes and I mean it...

Mr B and I rhyme ALL. THE. TIME. Recently, we were wondering aloud when and why we'd started doing this. His daughter looked at us and said "Duh! Princess Bride, people. PRINCESS BRIDE!!!"

One of my all time faves. This thread may have me busting out the DVD.

Not too long ago there was a story on CNN about some huge, giant rat that was discovered in Wales or someplace around there and I couldn't resist posting in the comments field "Wow, a real life R.O.U.S.!" A couple of commenters got the reference. :-)

Umm. I have heard of it but have not seem it and I assumed it was a newer movie. Why do I think it was a movie that Anne Hathaway was in? Oh that is The Princess Diaries. Carry on.
