I'm a cat magnet. The pied piper of cats. Without a flute.

My one just doesn't seem to be able to judge spaces too well, like she'll run full pelt for the gap between the banisters and just sort of wack it.
Another time she kept backing up, running and throwing herself at our glass back door to get in over and over until the thuds alerted us.. This was when we first got her as a kitten. It took her a while to understand how the door needed to be opened first.
She also has a habit of rolling in ecstasy on the bed and falling off.
Bless her.

nah, you secretly love them because all cats know when someones not a cat person, because cats love people who don't like cats. hehe Duh. It's a cat's number one rule.
Everybody wants to be a cat, because the cat's the only cat who knows where it's at. Everybody's picking up on that feline beat, cause everything else is obsolete.
Truth.

Loved that. But who didn't know that cats kill things? As a kid, my cat Devil used to bring huge rabbits into the house and run up the stairs and into my closet with them. It used to freak my sister out (we shared a room). My boss finds a headless mouse on his back steps nearly every day. It's what they do.
Except for my Pita. In the 11 years I had her, she never even killed a bug. She would often hunker down and look like she was going to chase birds. Then she would decide that just laying there was better. She did once chase a chipmunk. When she got close it stopped and turned around. Then she stopped and turned around to look at me like "what do I do now?!"

Ugh: Tabitha brings me either the heads or the headless bodies of various poor little vermin all the time. It's where our natures conflict.
I chased Howard Katz (a neighborhood stray I cared for) with a broom when he caught a bat.
I love bats.

I'm reminded of stories of bird lovers getting in trouble for killing outdoor cats. Their defense is that they're protecting the birds.

I won't kill an animal for hunting another animal, but I may try to stop it if I can, if I know it's for sport, not necessity (Tabitha and Howard are/were both well-fed, mostly lazy creatures).

I'm sure their "study" was bogus. It was just a humourous approach to the subject.
My cat loved showing up with a lizard or mouse tail dangling from her mouth. It was odd when she'd find a praying mantis. They'd stare at each other and the mantis would look like it was doing an eerie dance the way it swayed from side to side. I looked like a hypnosis session. My following cat was useless. We tried to get him to kill a tarantula, but he just stared at it. It made me wonder if it was a gender thing. I remember hearing that lions don't do as much hunting as lionesses.

I've met plenty cats who were skittish of me bc I was a stranger....but I've never had a cat to actively dislike me. Ever..
No matter where I live, some cat will end up befriending me. Even if it's just one.
There have been times when I was just completely randomly walking and a cat will zoom from nowhere, tail up, greeting me like a long-lost friend. The Black Kat adopted us this way, in the parking lot at the old country store...
I inherited deep cat-love from my grandma. Unfortunately, severe cat allergies appeared when I was in my mid-20's
Case in point...hadn't been at the new place for a month yet, at the time I took this pic...he/she just appeared out of nowhere as my daughter and I were en route to the dumpster, and promptly presented its tummy to us.

My aunt used to have a half-Siamese cat named Gracie that hated everyone besides her. I wasn't offended that the cat didn't like me; the feeling was mutual, lol.
