I'm just curious...what is your interest in this? I never can understand why people post such random, gruesome stories here. Do you live there or something?
Why does the media need to know the little girl was decapitated or whatever? I'm assuming a police report was taken when the body was found, and police reports are public record. That's what reporters do: report information.
Forget the media...I'm still wondering why NC needs to know this.

It wasn't too much. It's news and there's always someone who's interested in this type of story, especially if it involves kids. The title could've used a "warning: graphic story" caution. But no need to delete it.

I figured it would be graphic once I clicked the link. But it seemed gratuitous w/o an explanation. Like posted for shock value.
People have posted about babies getting microwaved and al sorts of other things...just bc they seemed "interesting."
And to me, when it comes to children, I think the bar should be set a little higher than "it's interesting" when deciding whether to start a thread on a senseless murder, etc.
I just don't understand the point and frankly now my morning is ruined. Not trying to bash...just expressing frustration.

A child getting killed itself isn't interesting.
I find serial killers and the gruesome details around what happened interesting. But it's not because I'm trivializing what happened or because I think it's cool; it's because the need to find out how and why someone could do that is interesting. I'm drawn to it because it's not something I could even fathom and therefore I want to know more.
The motive and circumstances behind the crime are interesting. I can be emotionally appalled and fascinated by something at the same time without making light of the situation. I would hope that the people who work with disturbed individuals or who help stop pediphilia don't do so because they like it; they are drawn to it, most likely, by the need to find out how to stop it.
Having one emotion exist at one time isn't a measure of ones humanity.

I heard today at elementary school this little girl whispering to another girl about someone being decapitated...I thought maybe they read a book...but now I need to know and I can't find anything in google

When I originally posted the link I did post a comment "God help her parents" was all I said. My title said "why does the media have to say body found not intact" The whole thread was supposed to be about the media and their graphic words they use to grab attention. I was saying this isn't fair to the family and loved ones of the dead girl!
So carry on and talk about cats and iphones. But don't accuse me of posting for "shock value".

Both articles I read had no "shocking" information in them. It just said "not intact". My brain wouldn't have even known what that means, if I hadn't of already known, you guys are so smart.
That's so sad for her family.
I hope it's not her. It depresses me when people go missing. It's worst than when someone is murdered.
