PerriP, that is hilarious! Every weenie dog needs a red cape and mask.

Sorry to ask if it's been asked before: What breed is Calvin?

Glad he's doing better.

Not to horn in or anything, but I'd just like to add that I'm rather partial to grits myself.

But I always share with doggies.

TNB, he's a longhair dachshund. They have standard and miniature, but he's a tweenie because he's somewhere in between those two.

The girl bagging my groceries last week actually asked me "What's a grit?" when she saw my box of grits. Needless to say they're a bit hard to find here in CA.

Starmie, do you know what polenta is? It's not exactly the same, but similar.

springy, starmie gets 12 months per year access to those cookies we like, so....she may just eat those instead of grits or polenta.

A GRITS related story:

A blog I read posted this story about a creepy guy she had seen parked on the street in front of her house a few days in a row and for some reason he must really love grits because he had a sticker on his car that exclaimed "I love to eat GRITS". She wasn't originally from the south, but is living in Alabama now and when I posted a comment informing her what the all capital GRITS meant in the south, she got even MORE creeped out by the guy. He did eventually move on, thank goodness.

Yes, I know what polenta is, can't imagine the dog eating it! This thread will probably go the way of the biscuits and gravy thread!

CL - do you get Vegemite as well? After 21 years here there's still foods I miss from over there. Luckily my obsession with midget gems is well catered to here.

Sorry for derailing.

Vegemite is the bestest and I do get it when I find it.

I want violet crumbles right now. I may have to order some with my tim tams

So the sticker on that guys car is a spin-off turning it into something nasty.

They're the Aussie version of Cadbury's Crunchie. Harder I think, ie more likely to break your teeth on, though not as sweet so less likely to rot your teeth.

When I read this thread yesterday I missed your post and wondered where the talk of Tim Tams had suddenly come from. Thread probably jumped courtesy of the dreaded curly gurus!
