What would you wear during the zombie apocalypse?

Like Tree264Likes

yay!! My zombie survival gear is coming together.

Maybe I should go home and make sure it's loaded with everything I need :-)
First aid and drugs:

You going to need first aid. no better what zombies you face you will end up having to bandage someone up or you yourself will get bandaged up. so unless you have a medical professinol on hand you will need to learn this stuff yourself. Keep a medical book on hand. gives you lots of info you will need. in fact take a first aid class now, before stuff goes down. you will need all the basic stuff you would keep in a first aid kit. but thats not all. if you are on perscription drugs you will need a life time supply, or as much as you can get your hands on. get pain relievers, antibiotics, Oxytetracycline tablets, tums. get butterfly suteres adn surgical blades. even superglue can be useful (once i needed stitches, but that thought scared the hell out of me. So i begged my mom to hook me up old school style, super glued the gash up, and no stitches required!) have surgical none latex gloves on hand and lots of alcohol and peroxide.

refrain form all booze and drugs that could lead to your impairment.

disclaimer: yeah, I'm a work. but I have nothing to do but twiddle my thumbs. i might as well try to save my curlies lives when things get greasy!
I will be wearing my black leather fringed biker bag. Like a fanny pack but it hooks to my belt loops. It is bad ass. : )
I'm actually picturing what I'll look like. hee.

SJP - probably the only person that could bring back the Fanny pack, and look good doing it.

I'm always afraid Ill be stuck in the shower, or on the toilet when the zombies come. After watching too many zombie movies I had myself so worked up while in the shower. I had to reason with myself like -

"I'm safe BC there's no way a zombie could figure out how to work a doorknob!"

Ha! I love this thread! Anyone see Shaun of the Dead? It's a British zombie spoof. Funny!

Everyone has great suggestions!

I will add to my back pack:
Night vision goggles
Binoculars
Bug Spray
Deodorant
- Seek first to understand, then to be understood.
- Character is how you treat those who can do nothing for you.
Weapons:

We all know how to kill a zombie, but what do we use to kill a zombie? alot of folks will say, "guns! the biggest most powerful gun you can fine!" True, it will be awesome to have a gun handy, in fact if you are facing the tyrant or nemesis or a licker from resident evil you will need a hellava lot more then a gun. but you cant jsut relie on guns. you will be faced with runing out of ammo, drawing unwanted attention from zombies or living people who mean you harm, and having to learn to shoot if you dont already know how. ok so lets say you are a sniper genius, a regular ole anne oakley you are. shoot any zombie right in the brainstem form a mile away. great! congrats! but unless you have an unlimited supply of bullets, that means nothing! unless of course you have some cheat codes that will give you unlimited ammo. wait! you dont! because this is real life, not a video game! so unless you have enough bulletts to take out every zombie walking aroung plus some for the crazy living people, and some extra for hunting big game so you can eat, I suggest you have some other weapons.

bladed weapons: the longer, stronger, and sharper the blade the better. swords, machetes all fall in this catagory. got a katana? dont leave it behind.

blunt objects: an aluminum baseball bat would do nicely. in fact anything that can smash open a zombie's head like a melon. maybe even a melon!

an ax: remember that form the walking dead? need i say more?

Bow and arrow: this can be a katniss style bow, or a daryl style bow gun. either one you can retrieve your used arrows.

things that go boom: If you got some c4, granades, bombs, tnt, you got a great advantage. you can set up booby traps and blow hordes of zombies sky high. you dont even have to be in the same city when things light up. but becareful. only people who know what they are doing should handle the dynamite. one screw up and you are all dead!

helecopter: not people folks have one, but if you do, you can make a killing

gun leg: now to have this you will obviously have to be missing a leg, but how cool a replacement would a gun be?

old vinyl records: yes, if you have some old records, throw them like a ninja star. if you have a ninja star, throw them like an old vinyl record.

however you choice to ice those undead ba$tards do it to Queen's "don't stop me now".

When I watch that show I think, they must be putting a lot of power into that, Have you ever cut or stabbed something??? IT takes a lot of power. I mean when carol put that stick in that zombies eye so it would stab the brain, she did it like she was dusting a glass figurine, no effort.

to machete someones head, I probably wouldn't dent his skull the first try....

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
The gun was sometimes cool, but watching her try to walk on it was so awkward.

A have a beautiful perfect knife for stabbing zombies. I need to make a nice leather sheath for it tho.
I think I will be travelling by Harley. If it's good enough for Daryl, it's good enough for me. And in winter (if I stay in this neck of the woods) we will use snowmobiles or 4 wheelers.

JEEPY, I was just thinking if they're in GA for winter, I wonder what the northern places are like in the winter for the ZA. do the zombies freeze? or can they keep going...
If I had my choice of weapons, I would do it Michonne style with a kitana. She makes it look effortless. Plus I love Kill Bill and would love to be a kick a$$ samurai warrior.

"I will never be the woman with perfect hair, who can wear white and not spill on it."

What's your plan?

You should always have more then one plan. Plan A-Z if needed. You need a plan for if the attack happens when you are at work, or vacation, at school, sleep, at home, at a friends house... you get the the picture.

You have to know rather you will stay put and ride it out in your home, or make a track to an island. Maybe you have a secluded cabin in the woods. a highrise in the city. A boat at a marina. You have to have a solid plan of action. But you have to also be aware that the best laid plans can blow up in your face. So you have to always stay on your toes. be prepared to put your plan B in action and be prepared to just wing it.

Never rely on the gov. Dont sit around saying, "the federal gov will save us. thats what i pay my taxes for." Remember hurricane Katrina? Imagine something like that but all over the country, and instead of a big azz hurricane millions of flesh eating zombies. so now you tell me, do you really want to wait on the govt?

Once the attack begins you have to act fast, you either have to be ready to fight or haul butt!!! if you decide to run, you only have a short window of time to get out before either there is mass hysteria from the population and it will just be best to stay put or the govt intervenes and inforce roadblocks, then you are trapped like a rat. so if you get a hint of a zombie outbreak, get you stuff in order. because you already have your survival kits, you dont have to be one of those people looting the local walmart. you got everything you need already, so just keep it moving.

So if you plan to stay and ride it out, make sure you have enough supplies for at least a month, perferable more. while there maybe a time where you can eventually venture out and and get more suppiles, you dont know how long that will be. if you plan to stay in your home, make sure nothing can get in, and always have a way out just in case. Once you baracade yourself in, dont go out, and let no one in no matter what.

if you plan to run, know where to go, and how to get there. have a map. do not rely on gps, they may not be working anymore. try to avoid major highways when going there, everyone will have the same idea. in fact once you know where you plan to evacuate to, go there every few months. know the area, know the back roads, side roads, and up side down roads. and already have your supplies there and have it zombie proof. dont wait until Z-day to transport supplies and begin to board up windows. as you travel, stop fo no one! i reapeat, stop for no one! this may seem cold blooded, but do you want to risk your kid being eaten?

so a month has passed and you have survived. now what? you cant just stay holed up forever. you need to beign to revisist all of your pass plans, and alter them as needed. remember to always have a plan. your supplies will not last forever. so its time to go out scouting the surrounding area. you should have a radio, but they may be useless at this point in the game. with the collapse of society who is going ot be sending out news reports? you have to find these things out yourself. but always be vigilant. ninja style! in and out no one should see you, not even your shadow! "wha? where they go?" <-- that's your shadow.

and always, always be ready to move! never get too comfortable in one place. always have someone on lookout.

there are several factors that can determine your course of action, such as the type of zombie, the cause of the outbreak, and the speed at which it spreads are just a few. you have to have a plan for every scenerio. If you are in your highrise apartment with your daughter adn a "rage virus" breaks out, what doyou do? hold out? becaome a beacon to let other survivors know you are alive?

what if you wake up in the morning and your neighbor's kid is eating your husbands face? You go to a cemetary with your brother who taunts you only to be attack be a seemingly crazy old man? what do you do? you need a plan, or you are dead meat!
So we have a plan, we have supplies, and we have weapons. how do we travel?

A tank would be nice. But they move to slow and takes up to much fuel. that fuel could be running a genrator for a week. they move so slow are are so noisy, you will get trapped. But if you happen to come across one and know how to use it, dont be hestited to blow away some zombies if you can safely get away.

Buses, big vans, trucks, and rv's are could options. you can modify them (think the remake of dawn of the dead, talk about tricking out someones ride!) and you can transport alot of people. the downside is that they are big, which means if the roadway is not clear, you are stuck. also they may need diesel fuel, which means you may need two types of fuel.

Motorcycles are compact and you can weave in and out. but you can only have a max of 2 people so its not ideal for large groups. also can be nosey so will catch the attention of a zombie. it also provides you will no protection. you could easily be clothes lined by a zombie.

pickup's are a good option because they can for fuel effecent and you can get some speed out of them. they can also take on a hefty load and all kinds of terrian. you can also deck out the truck with a nice machine gun on top and snowplow thingy in the front.

bicycle, yeah i said it. you can go fater then you little legs can carry you. and going down hill, you can just coast and hope you have working breaks. dont forget your helmet.

if the zombies decide to ignore animals a horse would be a good option. the down side is, its an extra mouth to feed and get water. the upside, he can feed a few dozen folks.

on foot, may be your only option. but dont forget to stretch and wear comfy shoes. you can't afford blisters, blisters can lead to infection.

now if you can get this, ohhhh:
