I am sorry, Narnia. Many T's & P's headed your way.

If your Aunt continues to fight against a home, could a home nurse possibly come to the house and stay? My mom and her siblings hired a woman who stayed either days or nights when my grandmothers dementia became to much to handle. She was so helpful.

Sending positive thoughts to you and your grandparents. I hope they find a solution to your grandfathers care needs. I use to work with the elderly (particularly dementia patients) and it can take a terrible toll on the carers.
So sorry you're going through this.

Now that there has been a diagnosis the idea of moving him to a home has been moved off the table. Had the diagnosis been dementia it would be different but the CT scan revealed a large brain tumor and that explains why it came on so fast. My grandmother will take care of him and spoil him, as the Dr only estimated a month.
Thank you for all the thoughts, prayers and good vibes. It means more than you all know <3

Narnia, I know what your family is going through. The same thing happened with my grandma about a year and a half ago. Your family is in my prayers. It's a tragic thing to see someone you love slip away so suddenly.

It is, I didn't realize it would be so difficult. I was a bit numb to it I guess, but today at work it all flooded in and now it's hitting me. I am so close with my grandad I will miss him terribly

With a sudden onset and diagnosis like that, it is completely understandable. Home is where most people would want to be and I am sure everyone wants to spend as much time with him as possible. Just keep in mind that home aid (or Hospice) still might be a helpful option, if your grandmother finds it too hard and needs help. I know it's physically and mentally exhausting being a care giver.

Again, I am so sorry. Thinking about you and your family.

Sorry about that. My phone/app is being terribly weird.

With that diagnosis, and estimate, I do not blame her. Home is where most people would want to be, and I am sure everyone wants to spend as much time with him as they possibly can. Just keep a home aid (or hospice) in mind if it becomes too hard for your grandmother. I know being a caregiver can be mentally and physically exhausting.

Again, I am so very sorry. I am/will be thinking of you and your family.

Dr. has just said he probably won't make it to see the end of today.
Very blessed to have been able to video chat with everyone last Saturday. I was told he wouldn't speak or know who I was, but I'm his baby and of course as soon as I said hello he said "Hi Narnia, I love you." I needed that and was able to make peace.
Thanks for your support curlies
