^^ I've been shipping things nearly every day for 30+ years. By far, most things get to their destination (at least in the US. other countries are much more iffy, I hate to say.).
It's just safer to cover the pretty paper with brown paper and have nothing on the outside that makes it look like a gift or gives a hint to the contents. Not saying that even those precautions will always work but they won't hurt either.

I've never thought about wrapping the outside of the box, but always wrap everything inside. The condition some of my boxes arrive in, there's no way wrapping paper on the outside would survive!

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

Here is the July birthday present covered in clear packaging tape. It arrived unscathed. She said she thought about taking a chainsaw to it to get in it!

I bought something else today, yay! And it was a little cheaper than I anticipated so I've got a few extra bucks and a couple more things to get and I'll be all done. w00t!!

Does anyone else have the dilemma of always wondering if you'll come across something else you wish you had bought instead of something you've already gotten for your secret curly?

And if the neighbors think it's something ELSE which comes in plain brown packages... all the better.

I finally get to go to the event this weekend to shop for my curly. I have a couple things at home I think I'm sending... since I bought them years ago, I figure they don't count toward the price total. I'd love to be able to get the gifts in before Hanukkah, but they'll at least be there before Christmas...

Dang. I thought I got my package today! But, false alarm. It was something from ebay that I got for my boss and forgot about. Darn it.

We're going to have to nickname rou The Shadow!

I'll be going some time this week to get the last few little things if I can find what I want.

I am going to buy part of my curie gifts today on my lunch! Yes (hangs head in shame) I was temporarily derailed by that pesky contraband issue "stupid laws" . . . *kicks pebble* . . . and yes, I froze up and didn't shop. However, with much research and scouting, actual purchases will be made today. I am so excited!!!

I went; I shopped; I came out with a big ole gift, much bigger than I saw in my crazy mind. Now I have to find a bigger box, a much bigger box! I love it! 2 more wee things to buy and I am ready to wrap and pack and ship! Should be out in the mail by Saturday, Monday at the latest!!!!

I can't even tell y'all how flippin' excited I am. I hope my curly likes her gift, I have such a hard time choosing what to get! Ugh!!!!

I have to get to Target this week to finish up getting a few small goodies then I'll get it wrapped (yay!! gifts to wrap!!), boxed and give it to Santa to deliver. Or our grumpy mailman, whatever. He's such a grinch.
