Things that really scared you or bothered you at a kid (that weren't scary)
My sister just texted me to tell me my darling baby niece is scared of Cogsworth from Beauty and the Beast. I laughed because I can remember being scared or bothered by things that were neither scary nor bothersome.
The one that comes to mind is that song "Do You Know Where You're Going To," by Diana Ross. Any time it'd come on the radio I'd clap my hands over my ears and yell, "Turn it!! Hurry! Hurry!"
What about you?

The Hamburgler from McDonald's scared me as a kid (whatever happened to him?).

*Oh no wait!! I am wrong. It was the Hamburgler. Grimace was the purple one, right? The one wearing a chain gang/escapes con outfit and mask was evil.
I was terrified of him. I used to have nightmares that he was Jack the Ripper. I think that idea partly spawned from an old Sherlock Holmes episode on PBS.
* I was also scared of clowns so you can add Ronald to the list.
Aside from that I was (as I have mentioned before) scared of my Rainbow Brite doll. I wanted her so bad but, she ended up creeping me out. I hid her in the back of my closet.
The idea of Santa Clause coming into the house scared me. We didn't have a chimney so he probably had to break in and that made me nervous.
That is all I can think of right now.
One of my friends was terrified of opened black umbrellas. Her mom would open one and lay it in the floor when she mopped to keep her out of the room.

Now you know you are not alone, and no need to be embarrassed. It is wild how many of these odd things from your childhood will stick with you.
Case in point, I still can't stand old Rainbow Brite dolls

The tractor part of a 18wheeler without the trailer attached. When I would play outside and one rode by I would always run back to the house.

Apparently he is still up to his old tricks.
Is it just me or does he look a little more like Howdy Doody these days?

Yeah, didn't he look more menacing years ago?

Absolutely! I had to search for original pictures because he was revamped a few times. The original Hamburgler (in the 1970's) was also known as "The Lone Jogger" and looked more like this.

Oops. My photos were not posting correctly. Let me try again.

That is a bit over dramatized but close enough to my imagination. He had long grey hair and a pointy noise.
Here is the first figurine

I was afraid of choking to death on a grape if I threw it in the air and caught it in my mouth.
I was also terrified of the caterpillar in Alice in Wonderland. I tried to watch it as an adult and it still creeped me out.

Two things:
Lite Bright, a toy from the 70s (the issue started with the silly jingle in the commercial and then grew into fear of the toy itself);
A very tall Orthodox Jewish business associate of my father's. Whenever he'd come over, he'd ask to hold me, and then he'd lift me up above his own head, and I'd panic. I started hiding in my closet whenever I thought he'd come around. I think his name was Liebisch? The black clothes and his black facial hair scared me silly, which is weird, because my father had black hair, too. Maybe it was the hat?

Chucky...I know he was suppose to be scary but I saw it was I was like 6 and then had to sleep in a room full of dolls!!...I thought they were going to come alive and kill me...my cousin was babysitting and let me watch it.
The evil queen from Snow White
I had a doll that crawled towards me then fell and cried mama and when that thing was crawling toward me I screamed and ran like the wind.
