Man, reality shows make me sick. All literally staged, I guess: Breaking Amish, this show, dang! Even my beloved, trashy Cheaters.

I'm addicted to all "The Real Housewives" shows. I can't believe the crap I put into my brain in the evenings. I'm sure most of that is staged. Not all, because Taylor's husband did commit suicide and Adrianne & Camille did get divorces..

I'm on board with 90% of reality shows have SOME sort of producer-driven influence.

But no way was that recent show with "Matt and Kim" staged. Nope, not buying it. Those emotions on both of their parts were too real.

It's obvious all those reality shows are staged..I mean they have to be lol. But who cares, as long as it's entertaining. I can't stand most of them. I do like one about rednecks though, I think it's called duck calls or something.

My friend was on Say yes to the dress and she was annoyed. They gave her scripts to say that were all very untrue, not even matching with their friendship or past.

But why? If there's not enough drama, it won't be interesting!

i havent seen alot of say yes, but it dint have over the top drama to me. i figured a bride looking for the perfect dress is bound to have some drama so why need to script it? i'm just having a "wow" moment.

i know show shows are i guess "edited". like queer eye for the straight guy. watching the show, it seems they were there for a day when in reality they would be there for close to a week. the show was just edited. but now i'm wondering if those guys were really just models or something. (if anyone knows, dont tell me, i dont want to know the truth!)

Oh my god! Jasmine and Mike is horrible....basically this woman started talking to a guy online. They talked for two years. But when she finally goes to meet him, it's a woman that SHE KNOWS who did this as revenge....to keep Jasmine from getting involved with a guy that "Mike" (really Missy) wanted.

So Jasmine is all humiliated, and keeps saying "Let me just beat her azz, let me just beat her azz," and Missy is saying stuff like "You're fat, you're out of shape, who talks to somebody for two years, you're an idiot," etc.

Lord save he children. LOL and smdh!

All reality shows are staged, faked, and scripted. It's how the genre works, otherwise they'd all just be boring. Even if the casting process fails and all the contestants are polite, levelheaded, and unwilling to play to the camera, there's still writers figuring out how to turn the footage into drama and storylines. And then there's stuff like filming multiple takes of everything, and making it look like a week's worth of activity happened in just one or two days.

^ Correct. If you really enjoy that genre, and keep that in mind, there is really not much difference in enjoying that and any other scripted television show/movie.

I prefer shows that are loosely categorized as reality, and at least offer a talent, but I also like pure junk food for the eyes every now and again. I do think the genre has been done past death, though.

Which reminds me, I have a close friend (since childhood) who worked for a television network that provides several reality shows. She has given me dirt on which ones were staged, more so than the others. Some have amped up drama and story lines but the persons (who is not an actor by trade) skill/gift is 100 % reality. In other shows it's all complete nonsense, and the 'stars' are paid actors. It varies but all have scripts, story lines, and aspects that are played up.

Lol ya maybe because that guy Byran that serves papers got pushed around too much, and didn't retaliate! I still think that tow truck show on TruTV is funny.........I wonder why it changed from CourtTV though.

And I'm sure that show BlindDate is fake too but its hilarious!
