^^ITA. Testing is really nothing. I mean maybe for some it gives peace of mind, but really, you can get tested, sleep around/do porn in the interim of getting the results, get infected and then get a clean bill of health from the test you took last week.

For me, STIs are already thinking too far. A person who does porn/is ok with doing porn simply doesn't share the values I have regarding sex and intimacy, so no, I can't date them.

Once you know... You know.

I don't mind his S&S videos, or his standard 'work'. Haha

Wait.

I thought they had to test positive before doing filming a new scene. And according to Stoya's article (Idr the link but she's a pornstar and she explained how her day went and her view on the condom regulation) they get their results the same day. They basically get a frequent flyer discount: cheaper tests, quicker results since they do it so frequently.

So if at any point they test positive they can't film and spread STIs... unless of course they do it with a regular person. Lol.

Oh, I don't know about the frequency and the regularity of the tests for porn stars. Do they get tested everyday? Like if you have a job that lasts a week, do you get tested everyday of the week?

Anyway, I assumed their tests were the same as "regular" tests. *shrug*

Porn stars have sex much more than the normal person so of course they get tested more than the average person. The frequency of their movies determines how often they get tested.

^^I understand (know) that they are tested more frequently. I didn't know they got their results on the same day.

Also my week long movie question is still in the air.

A big, fat NO! At least, not someone who was currently involved in that industry. I agree with others who have said they would consider a relationship with someone who had been in the industry in the past, but are now living a lifestyle completely separate from it.

Even if HIV test results come the same day, I understand that there's a window period of several weeks where the body is developing HIV antibodies before they can test positive.

My answer: no, I wouldn't. I just don't think I'd be comfortable with the idea.

that's very true. HIV is a complex mother. Trust me I've written multiple papers and even a rap song about it. If only I could find that magical cd containing it, I would share it with the world

Not only that but more than one porn star has altered their results and knowingly transmitted HIV and other STD's. One I remember from the 90's, but can not remember his name. He had long blonde hair and a thin build. He did numerous unprotected films after he found out he was positive. I know two female porn stars contracted it from him. One was a huge star at that time. My guy friends 'luv'd' her and were upset.

In August of this year a porn star named Mr Marcus altered his positive syphilis results and spread the love. *I discovered that while googling in attempt to remember the other guys name*

It truly is a dirty job.

Marc Wallice! That was going to drive me insane. He was diagnosed and continued making films for 2 years afterward. There have been a few other men that 'reportedly' did the same as Wallice and (woman) executive has been accused of covering up/or neglecting to give the results for/to the actors, on a few different occasions.

M.W ended up being invited back into the porn industry to write and direct films before he died. I know, what? He admitted that he knowingly risked infecting or infected others for 2 years. I can not understand how they welcomed him back and some made comments that the porn industry could stand to "lose a few people".

There have been other controversies with some of the more recent. I think one man infected 4 or 5 people in 2004. Some people claim they were aware, some claim they were not, etc. Other than their porn career supposedly being 'over' not much else is done.

If they got out of that business a long time ago, I'd theoretically be okay with it. But if I somehow got into that situation, I don't know how I'd feel.
