Sometimes it is hard to think about diets and eating right when there are so many delightful temptations around. I have an even bigger issue since I have a trip before Christmas (all you can eat everything) and a birthday (several birthday dinners out) and then Christmas and of course we always do something for New Years and directly after that birthdays galore which means eating out even more. What I do to help combat all the extra sweets is go to the gym! I try to get in my work outs even when I am away on vacation and I don't worry about all the food until after the holidays, then I buckle down and start eating properly again. If the gym is closed on the holiday I use my home gym I dont have all the equipment but it helps a lot when the weather is cold and there is snow. I just get changed go downstairs and get on the elliptical, treadmill, bike, ab lounger, and do some weights all while I watch TV. I also do yoga at home, step aerobics and some boxing work outs...I feel a lot less guilty during the holidays when I stay active and I end up not gaining much weight if anything at all. You want to enjoy all the food but in moderation its a good idea not to use the holidays as an excuse to overdo it.

I always lose weight in the winter because I eat so much soup/stew/chili. A cup will tide me over for about half of the day, and I usually make them on the healthier side anyway.
This morning I found myself putting on pants from college. They fit!

Same here. The soups/stews plus we have lovely winters and I am much more active in winter than in the 100+ degree heat of summer.
This year I was injured and had trouble even sitting for a lot of the summer, so I should lose more weight simply because I can be active without it hurting so much I cry...

I always gain weight over holidays, but it falls right back off as soon as I go back to normal eating habits.
I do find that I eat and crave much more rich and dense foods when it is cold.
I have avoided any serious permanent weight gain the past few years by exercising a ton. Spring is a great time for running races, so I spend much of the winter training for a March/April race and it keeps everything happy.

I usually gain weight during the winter since I work out less(it's cold..brr) am less active(not as much swimming or being out and about walking around town) and start eating more starting Thanksgiving. Well I gained 10 lbs since last Thanksgiving, never lost it and gained another 5 in the last few months. I'm starting to diet and work out now. I'm sick of my jeans not fitting and not being so happy with my body. My goal is to lose 10 lbs by new years.

Me too I weighed myself at work yesterday for no particular reason and it was much higher than I expected, but wrote it off because it is usually higher than the one at my house. Then later that night my husband asked if I had put some weight on. I weighed myself again this morning and sure enough I have a few lbs. to lose. To my credit though I have been sick though for over a month causing me to be very tired and sedentary lately on top of holiday goodies. Regular exercise usually puts me back to my regular weight.

Today is my first day cutting back major carbs at lunch . I'm about to eat a banana so that my soup and salad that I'm having later will be enough.
I miss my publix fried chicken meal and pasta already.

I'm just trying not to gain more now. After the new year, I'll try to lose 5-10.

I hate exercising...it sucks! But yeah...yoga 5-6 times a week for me (once I heal from my stupid slip on a teeny-tiny piece of ice on the ground...I thought I just looked dumb because it scraped up my face...nope, knee is jacked up and so are the muscles in my back. STUPID!). I cannot continue to live life at this weight. Once I've lost enough, then I can start something a little more upbeat. I love yoga, but my mind strays sometimes. A more upbeat strenuous workout like kick boxing would be awesome! Then I could get out all my aggression and frustration from work out!
ETA: Oh, yeah. I went to Costco yesterday and spent $270.00 on stuff! I've been poor recently, so I needed to restock some stuff, but I was trying to only get the essentials so I could eat healthy! So...yeah...I have a fridge chock full of fruits and vegetables and the bulk ones are mainly even put into little snack size baggies so if I'm hungry, I can grab a bag and munch without automatically going to the corndogs in the freezer (it was a weak moment a couple weeks ago, okay?!). Now, I just need to put the rest of the produce I got yesterday in smaller containers that are the correct serving proportion and I'm rockin' the healthy food!

This area is under construction as my hair type changed and nothing works well for me. I shampoo, I condition and pretty much have done nothing but chuck my hair in a messy bun for the past oh...year? Yeah, I'm that lazy.
No...going no-poo or CG does not work for me. It leaves me overconditioned and oily in a second no matter what I use, so that's not what's not working.

I've been doing a 50 minute yoga routine called the Peoples Yoga. I love it. But I threw my back out doing it the other day! Unbelievable! I think I'll stick to every other day. And I hope Mr man fixes my treadmill soon.
