Thumbs up

Hubby talked to FIL tonight, he finally called us back. MIL is making a U-turn in her health, she is awake (although sometimes confused) and starting to eat light food like pudding. She called FIL at 5AM worried that she was going to miss an appointment. So they took her phone out for now. I guess her body is fighting the infection and pneumonia, there is improvement. They are starting some exercises with her too.

Thank you for your continued Ts & Ps! They are working!

Thumbs up Time for some good news

We need some good news right now. We talked to FIL last night. She is improving! She's eating a little but mostly refuses to eat, or says she can't. ? Not sure what's up with that, but I imagine her stomach has shrunk from not eating for 2-3 weeks. They are doing PT on her, she has gotten out of bed, they are weaning her off antibiotics.... Of course, they won't be sending her home anytime soon, she'll have to be eating and moving much better.

Thank you for your continued support. I'll keep posting as I hear it.

Son should be cleared up by next week but I'm not sure when we'll be able to go up now. (Poor guy still has a few blisters that haven't popped and crusted, so he's still out of school.)

Thumbs up Going home!!!!

I forgot to post that we had a nice visit 2 days before Christmas. We drove up and visited for the day. We had to wear gloves and gowns because she was contagious. One nurse said it was MRSA but FIL insists it was not. Either way, we didn't want any of it!

She was in good spirits and visited for several hours. But wait!.........

..........And now the GOOD NEWS!!!!!.........

Oh happy day! My Father-in-law just called to say he's on the way to bring Mother-in-law home from the hospital!!!!!!! Woohoo! Thank you all for keeping her in your thoughts and prayers, I truly believe they made a difference!

Yes, thank you for asking. He was quarantined at home for 12 days straight! He was FULL of pox, despite the vaccine and the doc saying he should have a lighter case. HA! Not this kid. But luckily I don't see any scarring on his face, which was full of them. I swear half the skin on his hands peeled off.

She's home and doing OK, tired. Hubby spoke to her tonight and she said she fell going up the steps into the house. I'm guessing FIL was not right behind her to help her up. Oy. But she says she just got scraped on the sidewalk and is OK.

But she's home! Let's just hope FIL takes care of her well. He has NO idea how to cook, says he'll heat frozen dinners and I reminded him that he does know how to make a sandwich.

Unhappy She's gone

She's gone. She passed away this morning at home. We don't have the reason of death yet, FIL thought maybe it was her heart but she didn't have problems that we know of. At least she got to go home and be with FIL and her dogs for a few weeks.

Poor FIL. MIL went this morning and he has to put down one of their 2 dogs tomorrow. She has internal bleeding, failing spleen, but is really too old for surgery that may not work anyway. He said they knew about this yesterday, I hope it didn't contribute.

Thank you all for your support through this all. Please keep FIL in your Ts&Ps over the next days, he is so lost and alone out there (4 hours from us). We plan to go up Saturday and spend the long weekend with him, helping as we can.
